I meant to say you can get password if you get his personal info which you can get from other methods. One of which was SMS in which you send a Landline number to a number & it will give you his info. For knowing password you have to his personal info. So rule of the book is never tell anybody your tell No.

I recieved this reply from Tata indicom's Nodal officer :

    Dear Mr. Chahal,

We regret for the inconvenience caused to you.

In regard to the various instances stated by you in your mail - all of which lead you to believe that services provided by us are to the contrary of what your expectations were. We appreciate your concern in providing us your views on our service which is a valuable input for us to improvise on the way we function.
We would like to inform you that your concern regarding identity verification issue has been notified and we assure you that necessary steps have been taken to prevent the re-occurrence of such incidents in future.

If you require any further assistance please revert back to us to do the needful. It is our constant endeavor to serve our customers to their satisfaction.

Assuring you of our best of services at all times,

    Yours sincerely,

    Nodal Officer – North

I hope this is true that they have taken steps and changed their "procedure" for good.

Thanks you Mr Nodal officer.... But what about the habbit of your customer service people hanging up on customers?

That may not be a good idea, for one you may have signed a confidentiality clause and providing email id of employees is tantamount to breach of contract and this can attract legal penalties. Secondly providing the email ID of someone else (without their permission) is also breach of their privacy. Looks to me the Nodal officer has given his assurances and perhaps we should leave it at that. Unless again if those assurances have not been effected through.

We must respect others privacy as much as we do ours.

The proof of the pudding is in its eating.
So don't be so hopeful, Mr. Admin.

I just read Admin's first post and replying with another example, if this is alredy posted in replies please forgive me.

Admin said about the e-mail ID and got all the details, you can consider that getting e-mail ID is 1% difficult. You can get the details of the customer even if you know his phone number.

    Here is another classic example

    https://www.tatatele.in/ComplaintTra...laintAction.do

This is the link for giving complaint on your tata phone number. Just go that page and type any tata phone number and go to next field.

It will update the city and state automatically, this has been done after many months. I too sent almost 10 mails for this issue, 1 month back total name, address, everything including his/her tata account number was showing.

This is the type of care they provide.

Tata sucks for sure....so does majority of the so called "customer care" hotlines...

Data Protection is a big offense in todays world in most of the countries, but in India it is a joke.

Unless each one of takes a pledge to "not leave any of these offenders get away that easy"

Rip them off, don't know how? Reach me, i will train u ...lol

Don't you believe it just yet. These are pre-formatted standard auto-replies to emails and complaints.

I am working in a Tata group company and when I read this I highlighted it to the tata broadband company officials and they have confirmed to me that the process has been changed.
