Angry Unfair Trade Practice by Tata Indicom

In my society, Tata Indicom has a monopoly on wired connections and the local vendor has made it compulsory to take a BSNL Landline with it !

Its a 7-8 month old society in Pimple Saudagar, Pune and no other ISP has started services yet.

Not sure how to complain about this monopolistic practice. Have been waiting for another ISP for serveral months now. I think I'll have to go with the BSNL landline after all.

    Any suggestions ?

Go to WAKAD BSNL Exchange b'coz Pimple Saudagar falls in that area for BSNL
    What is your problem ;
Society compelling you to take BSNL BBconnection /
    or Tata landline services /
    both can provide broadband services.

you get a landline from TataIndicom or BSNL ( or MTNL if coming under Mumbai area ).
    YOUR SOCIETY secretary :
Is he ,a franchisee of either TataIndicom or BSNL ?
With severe competition from cellphones, now a days you may even get the telephone connection free!
    feedback.

Its nothing to do with the society.

The local Tata Indicom franchisee will provide an Internet connection ONLY IF I take a BSNL Landline with it.

There is a deposit of Rs.1500, installation of Rs.800 and monthly rental of Rs. 125 for the BSNL landline, IN ADDITION to the Tata Indicom net charges.

Tata Indicom Customer care is clueless about this.

Since its a new society, no other vendors are currently offering services here.

I just want to know if there's anything that can be done to prevent the local Tata Indicom franchisee from forcing people to take a BSNL landline ?

you are barking at wrong tree, you go to other tata vendor and get tata phone and BB, who is stopping you. I case contact TATA indicom.

you are confusing every body here.what is this society is? how is you are bound to it?
Why can't you by pass them? why can't try other TATA vendor?....
Why only TATA are you sure of services you get after promises.

As per me it is BSNL is better in spite of lot of hassle what we find(common) in india.

I have a tata wimax connection since the time they launched it and apart from the initial few weeks I have not encountered any major issues with their service.

Thread opener: Just go to Tata indicom website and fill out that form and they will take care of your connection... If you still encounter this bundled bsnl landline issue come back here and post the complete issue and we can get in touch with one of the VP in the company I know personally and make sure that this dealer looses his contract with Tata indicom... these guys deposit Rs1 lakh with tata before they let them sell new connection and he will loose his security deposit if what you are saying is true.

    Default Yes its perfectly true

Even i am a resident of Pimple Saudagar. In my society even, there is no other wired connection than Tata Indicom And for it its compulsory for you to take BSNL landline with the same charges as mentioned above. Its quite screwing to invest 2500 for just installation of internet & then paying 125 rs extra per month.
Even TataIndicom is not providing speed anything aboe 512kbps. I asked for 2Mbps they said its not technically feasible.

Preposterous... how do you guys put up with this??

Anyway, what I don't understand is that instead of taking both Tata and BSNL lines, why not just go for BSNL BB+landline?
