Currently i have 256kbps unlimited connection from tata... but as evryone knows tht tata doesnt give a stable speed all the tym....

AS most of you kno tht there is a way to hack or do somthin to the router or the seetings by which u can get better speed. (such hacks/settings have been repotedly posible for bsnl connections so i guess it is available for tata also)

Plz if anyone has any info on such stuff thn plz do inform us... so tht evn we can enjoi higher speeds.....

    Smile i aint agree

I totally disagree with you. That tata doesnt provide stable bandwidth. All Broadband ISP provides bandwidth on demand.First checkout how many TataB users u have in ur locality.Maybe there are more users bcoz of which u some time get down time.

Im thoroughly satisfied with tata B service i also purchase my own router and plugged in RJ11 jack from USb modem to router and its all workin fine.the bandwidth is excelent.

Smile Tata is a **** comapred to other

As u know frnds there are a lot of other ISP's in market. TATA has recently just entered in the market with its broadband plan. I can give u 100% better other ISP's then TATA. Now take BSNL itself.I think if u are opting for unlimited(256 kbps) then noone other than BSNL can give u a match. Hathways is also better if u have mb use.The service of hathway is better than anyone.

Also ur q's of hacking is no kid game. Anyway hacking in hathway is possible if u get someones ID and passssssssssssss

Tata indicom is not good and I don't understand why you people go for it. Just go for Airtel if its available and if its not then I can say that BSNL is also better than TATA.

Well as of my experience with TATA broadband i would say that they do provide stable speed. If you are not getting it then i think you should report this matter to there custome care department and see what they say about it (if they would ever reply).

TATA is know for reliable speed and this is the main reason because of which i purchased their connection and if you are not getting stable speed then i think you should report this matter to their customer care department and if you are lucky a technician would visit your house in a week or two.

I dont know how you people are getting stable speed. I had their connection and it is was stable at all. Sometimes it was so slow that i couldnt check my mail and sometimes it was full what i can get from my connection.

Default Speed Up Ur Broadband Speed (Win XP or 2K3 only)

To speed up the Internet connection speed we need to configure a special buffer in the computer's memory in order to enable it to better deal with interrupts made from the NIC (Network Interface cards) or LAN Card:
(This tip is only recommended if you have 256MB RAM or higher.)

STEP#1:Identify the IRQ used by the NIC/USB modem
    Follow these steps:

Open the System Information tool by running MSINFO32.EXE from the Run command.

Expand System Summary > Hardware Resources > IRQs.

Look for the listing made for your NIC (in my case - Realtek 81xxx Ethernet NIC+ Management Adapter). Note the IRQ next to the specified line (in my case - IRQ21).

    Step #2 : Modify the system.ini file
    Follow these steps:

Run SYSEDIT.EXE from the Run command.

    Expand the system.ini file window.

Scroll down almost to the end of the file till you find a line called [386enh].

Press Enter to make one blank line, and in that line type

    IrqX=4096

where X is the designated IRQ number we found in step #1, in my case it's IRQ21.

Click on the File menu, then choose Save.

Close SYSEDIT and reboot your computer.

Done. Speed improvement will be noticed after the computer reboots.

Are you kiddin me mate...tata recently just entered the market its been there ages before your hathway or anything else...remember its VSNL before tata indicom broadband...and coming to other isp being better dude ....there have been complaints about every isp ....its only that may be your in a locality where bsnl service is good...or airtel service..is good so what i would say the best thing to do is find which isp is better in your area and then opt for it...for me Tata has been the best using it since the last 3 years amazing connection without a single downtime till date..and no bsnl i am sure would'nt provide that...
