Default Tata changed my plan but not my speed !

    Hi guys,

I had taken a Tata Indicom connection with a plan of 256 KBPS U/L 2 years back and had no problems with it. Recently, they gave me a free bump to 384 kbps but there was no difference in the download speed.

Just 3 days back, I decided to upgrade my plan to 512 U/L which costs about 50 rupees more. They have indicated in the online account that the plan has changed but still I am getting download speeds of ~30-32 kbps only.

I have already complained twice to their call center. Any solution guys?

EDIT : Also, what download speed should I expect since the compression ratio is 1:4?

EDIT : The call center guys at Tata are least helpful. Infact, they try to explain me that I should get about 30kbps only on a 512 u/l plan.

I forced them to register a complaint and they did so. Within 12 hours, I got the call from the service engineer who listened to my problem and within 10 minutes, I am getting about 60kbps download speed. I am one happy Tata customer

exactly, for Tata Indicom Broadband key is to make friends with local engineers rather than calling customer care.

I used to have an engineer as friend but he quit the job, from that time i've been facing so many problems, complaints get closed without resolving, back then i would just call my friend and it would get fixed under 6 hours

VSNL is really a big thief in supplying speed. It provides committed speed or lower than commitment ....But I have not experienced high speed even for a minute from VSNL DSL line.
