Experience:
1. Very slow. The actual speed is between 0.1% and 10% of what Tata claims. It is on average slower than dial up.
2. Connection unstable. The connection often grinds to a slow stop. Then you have to disconnect and reconnect. Example: To submit this post I had to do this 5 times. Then I gave up and used my neighbour's DSL.
3. Can't find recharge options. Trying to find out what recharge options there are is a nightmare. It's somewhere hidden in Tata's website, which takes super long to load.
4. Recharging nightmare. Where can I recharge? Certainly not a Tata's Chroma electronic stores. They will happily sell you a Tata photon +. But when I went back to Chroma (at Faridabad) they told me that recharge is not working "today".
I came back the next day and the day after. Answer always the same. Then on day 4 they admitted that they simply can not recharge Tata Photon. Ever. And they had no idea where I could recharge.
Think about that: The Tata shop that sold you the Photon plus has no Idea where you can recharge it!
Note: Online recharge is available, but I don't have the right bank account for it.
5. Tata shop smells like a public toilet. I am not trying to be ridiculous here. But go to the Tata shop at Galeria market in Gurgaon and you will see. By the way this is the only place I found (by accident) that can recharge my account. It is a disgrace.
6. Receipt: "No, there is no receipt". This is verbatim what the Tata employee told me after cashing my Rs1350 for a recharge. And he felt obviously no need to apologise for this either. How could I dare to ask for a receipt.
Other chaps would have pulled out an AK47 at this stage and run amok.
Truth be told, after I got a bit short with that fellow, he wrote me a hand-written receipt. At least in low tech Tata is good. The ball pen worked perfectly.
