Default wireless router issue for tata indicom broadband ethernet connection

    Hi there,

I am not able to configure Linksys WRT54GH wireless router for TI Broadband Ethernet connection (Ethernet wire coming to my home from some nearby TI maintained shared router). As per Linksys experts, it’s difficult to configure wireless router in such scenario, as per them its possible with ADSL or modem based connection.

Is there any solution apart from changing ISP? (TI support sucks, so ! )

    Regards,
    Abhijeet

and it is very simple you wouldn't believe-
    just set dynamic DHCP..save & restart dlink/
See photo. same as for Wimax.

    Feedback +ve or negative welcome.

    Para two:
    When connected in normal manner
copy/paste following data for ethernet connection ONLY.
    START RUN type cmd
    OK
    Type ipconfig /all

This is not working for Tata Indicom connection.

As per them, its PPPoE connection, but PPPoE configuration also wont work.

(a)Presume you mean you have to enter USERID And PW to connect to Internet.
in a Dialer supplied by TataIndicom.
    confirm.
    (b)
Once connected remove the rj45 from computer end and
connect to WAN port of WRT4GH.
Connect anothwer Rj45 from Lan 1 to computer.

    (c) Enable DHCP in linksy's unit.
    (d)
    If internet connection is restored
    try wifi without any cable.
    (e) also in (b) instead of WAN port try LAN ports.

    (f) Ask CC for laptop users , what alternate plan they have ?
    Photon ??
(g)Do you use their telephone land line service ?

Any concrete solution for TI Wired connection and Linksys wrt54gh wireless router?

I am finally thinking of switching to BSNL as I have seen it working at my neighbour... only thing stopping me is around 3k balance on TI account!
