    Default Tata Indicom is the worst.Please Read

    Hey guys. I just wanted to share my experience with Tata Indicom so that anyone who thinks of going for their connection knows what they're getting into.

    I had originally opted for one of their unlimited download plans at Rs799 at a speed of 256 kbps. The internet stopped workinge every now and then but it was bearable.
    About two months ago I was looking through the plans of other ISP's in mumbai and saw that most others were providing a speed of 750 kbps for the same price. I decided to go for Tikona's Wi Bro connection and put in a disconnection request with Tata. A day later I got a call from someone on their retention team asking why I was disconnecting, I was told that they would change my plan to DS346 New ADSL 786kbps Residential at a rental of just hundred rupees more. I agreed and the cancellation request was rescinded.I was told the speed change would take place in a few days. After about a week I was still getting speeds in the range of 200-250kbps. I called their customer care and was told that the minimum speed was 192kbps and maximum was 768 kbps so what I was getting was according to plan. I still insisted they accept a complaint however nothing came out of it.

    I again filed a cancellation request again(by this time I'd had to pay for both the Tikona and TATA connection) I was contacted by their retention team who assured me it was only due to a technical problem the speed hadn't been increased and that this time around infact I'd get a speed of 768kbps to 1 Mbps

    I again foolishly decided to trust them. Same story repeated. No difference in speed and bored customer care who couldn't care less.Now my third and hopefully final cancellation request is being processed. I don't know if Tata's retention team is officially encouraged to lie but I do know that I will never be using their service again and will do my best to make sure that no one in my immediate circle goes for their service and neither am i going to be paying this month's bill. How can these people so blatantly lie to their customers.

    I would seriously love to meet Ratan Tata, the guy must be a genius to actually be able to stay in business after cheating his customers this way. With the 768 kbps plan I didn't expect more than 600-700kbps but getting about a third of what you pay for is the limit.

    Default I agree, Tata Indicom Photon Plus is the worst ever

    I use photon plus for official purpose and pay much higher than the usage..just to be sure..in case sometime I have to...

    The connection is slow that even a google home page opens in 2-3 minutes time...

    I have complained innumerable times..and they even sent a engineer, who screwed up my laptop..has no clue about anything...the customer care sucks..not the call takers but the line....

    my connection conks off after ever 2 minutes...sometimes no mattre how many times I connect it doesn't help...

    I am paying on an average Rs1100/- for this pathetic connection...

    pathetic...my mobile connection is faste!!! can you believe..Broadband Datacard....JOKE JOKE JOKE....

    PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT....

    Default An Update

    Well, seem's somehow that the TATA indicom service team has forgotten about my prior cancellation request, I've put in a new one on March 05, hopefully this won't magically vanish. their customer service team at 67908000 assures me that I haven't made any cancellation request before the on March 05, I guess that arbitrarily deciding that I haven't made any prior requests gives them the opportunity to bill me a bit more. These people are easily the worst ISP's this world has ever had the misfortune to be cursed with.

    So, I was under the mistaken notion that all of this has been taken care of when I receive a letter from TATA demanding prompt payment of all dues, Well I can understand. I mean for a company who's customer retention team lies blatantly to their customers and customer care actually pretend they've never received a disconnection request this kind of behavior must be their stock in trade.

    About Tata I'm also having a bit of a problem myself. I don't know what is wrong with those douchebags.

    In the day of Holi when I came back to the house I tried to make a few SMSs.If ound out that my service is gone.I can't even call 12526, 12524, 15225. Its basically transformed into a rock.

    Next monday, I went to them they said it is a tower problem, it will be OK soon.
    I said OK Ok.
    Next morning it went alive again.I said good good.
    That evening I got a call from them about the complain I did the day before.
    They said that my number does not exist in their record.
    WTF!!!!
    I can call.I can text. Even GPRS is activated. I even made a Rs 100 recharge that day......
    Oh! That was a long discussion.They said they will look into it.
    I went to the store, that idiot said he is not aware of this.

    I guess they are still looking into it...

    Speak for yourself...WTF is this??

    Angry I wish I read this before I bought mine

    Similar experience here. Annoying speed. The customer care guy asked me to open speedtest.net to check the speed, but my complaint was that I was not even able to open speedtest.net. Avoid these guys by all means. It worked well only for the first two months. Since then, the speed is way below the promised speed, at least 10 times slower than promised.

    Simply avoid this ISP. That is the best that you can do, to avoid the frustration.

    P.R.O/ customer retention cell etc /in a big organisation like TataIndicom work independently. and don't care what the other Dept is doing !

    You will continue to get bills, computer generated as usual I presume !!!

    Tata people are idiots , now they have made cheap unlimited plans for business use , & for home use they only offer 5000 rs plan with 2.5 mb/s & unlimited download , WTF is this who in their right minds would pay this much i think tata's 1400 or 1500 something plan that gives unlimited with a speed of 750 kb/s is already costly , man i thought Tata was a good company that would take india to new highs , but it seems now all that mr Tata cares about is money & ho to make carp load of it

    in a age were we get 1 mb/s unlimited internet for upto 1099 max , tata & tikona are the worst ISP that india has seen , please ban their internet for crying out load

    when you guys do fill your pockets at least have some dignity & give the customers what they want & pay for
