Question how to set-up home wireless with tata broadband

ny one has set-up the home wireless with tata broadband ?? Seems they are using some ENET mechanism to connect to their hub and my pronet wireless router can't work with that. the configuration i have is -
Pronet 54M WRT router and the tata indicom provided zyxel protege 660R-t1 ADSL modem...

the zyxel modem was preconfigured with tata indicom settings in which they use some ENET settings (bsnl usses normal PPPoE) what configuration we need on the wireless router?

if ny one can guide me on this, it will be gr8.

tia,
-pm.

hi
please post your OS version (means windows xp or vista)
if possible then please post your router details too and trust me it is really very easy to config wireless

================================================== =========
go to wireless settings of your router and change your
wireless network name (SSID) to anything alpha numeric like aadi1234 or anything123

change your channel selection to Manual
change channel number to 11
change wireless security encryption to WPA-PSK
change WPA Encryption key to anything of your choice but it should be more than 8 chracters and alpha numberic again

and can change MTU size to 1400, 1452 or 1492

after making all changes press apply

Quote:
alpha numeric means combination of alphabets and numbers
still if you face anymore problems then please post here
just try this and update

Hey Khushi543,

Try this out - Go to your pronet router admin page and then in the left side panel go to :

NETWORK - LAN..

Under this you will see a page displaying MAC Address, IP Address and Subnet Mask.
Change the value in IP ADDRESS to 192.168.10.1

Press save and the router will automatically reboot.

Now check your internet - it should work through the wifi pronet router.

This was given to me by the pronet engineer over the phone and now my wireless network is working. Hope it works for you too!!

Cheers.

You have to configure it for static IP or PPPoE whichever system you're using. For a PRONET router goto Network->Wan and all the config options are there.

For PPPoe enter username/pass, if it still doesn't work then maybe there are two services on the same cable and you need to enter the "access concentrator" in the advanced page. Your Tata engineer will help you if this is the case.

For Static IP just enter the IP/Subnet mask/Default Gateway and DNS servers as provided by the company.
