Thread: Got a New Connection !!!

Hi

This is my first post !!!

Well I have taken a Tata Broadband connection .... here are the plan details ......

1) Rs. 199 per month for a 256 kbps connection

2) NO Installation charges... NO Registration Charges...i filled out the application ....and haven't paid a single paise to them yet ....

3) 8 pm to 8 am Free ..... for rest of the day its Rs. 0.50 per MB...

4) Hoping the connection will be done by today (hope sooo)

5) One last thing ....the deals says that " I won't get a public IP" ....OK.....Now what does that mean and how does that effect my downloads ....

btw ... i would downloading hell lot of movies and games..... been doing that in the office now i will will be doing the same at home !!!

so let me know more about Point No. 5 !!!!

Be Ready for a large bill and disconnections...

even i have the same plan im from navi mumbai........n i dont know y are u saying to be prepared 4 large bills n disconnections.....we can download lots stuffs like games and movies at night......without any affect on our bill....as the charge is only during the day that is 50ps per mb and night unlimited no charge

well itis nice that you have got a new TATA Indicom internet connection but i would just like to tell you one thing... they are really bad in terms of billing and more over if you get a problem with your connection then you would be stuck with it.

so looks like you are going to use this connection on night only.. ready to mess up your life for a little money

Well ....for usage based plans they are providing a dynamic IP and for unlimited plans they provide a static IP. Some software which are downloaded from recognised sites require the Static IP . Its much more secured than Dynamic IP. You can host your own website, may be on IIS which is integrated with the Windows OS of your system and register it in the internet only if you have a Static IP. If u r looking out for fun, then I bet dynamic IP is the best. If u r looking out for business or security, I bet U should go for Static IP.

Well am hosting a website, so I have chosen for a static IP.
