Default Tata Indicom Broadband cheats, doesn't give a damn for customers

I am a Tata Indicom broadband customer and though I have had problems with them in the past, I have continued with them for four years. Putting up with a stupid call centre and a non-existent customer care - their worst thus far was the service once being down for a fortnight.

Recently though, they have proved to be totally callous and I'd even say what they are doing is cheating the customer. Soon after I recharged my prepaid connection for three months towards the end of July, my broadband stopped working. It has been more than a month now and customer care sends me the same regret mail each time I send a query. They call twenty times to remind you to recharge but not to tell you why the broadband is down and when will it be restored. They haven't bothered to restore my service or give me a refund. This is callous behaviour, and I am totally disillusioned about my experience with the Tata group.

I was also a customer for tata incom ADSL pre paid broad band for 3-4 years in Hyderabad .Customer service was not bad in my case . But I gave up because it was expensive and speed was not too great. To solve the problem go to Tata indicom local office and shout .( I have seen so many customers shouting whenever I go to re charge ) Better try Reliance or BSNL. I manage with 3G,2G gprs, CDMA USB broad band (Net connect,Tata photon etc). For 3 compuetrs we have 3 or 4 USB sticks and no wired net. (wired is Cheap though)

I agree about some what BSNL's dubious reputation.
I did have BSNL broadband in Bangalore for 1 year (6 years ago)in a outskirts locality in Bangalore where there was no other operators. I got the connection (including fresh phone line) with in a week and I surrendered when I shifted.
Right now no wired ADSL. Few months ago I went to local BSNL office interested to buy ULD1350 or so. The way they were giving running about, I just walked out.
The reason I bought Indicom in Hyderabad was - they came to my door ,got the application signed+payment and installed it instantly,(no 1 week after payment like I hear in reliance)
In my case any problem-one call- Technician came to my door and fixed it with in 24 hours(but I live in heart of the town)

Iam just curious what was the package the original complainant + you have subscribed to ?
what is the prepaid 3 months package going nowadays for 512 lbps/728 kbps?

In my case Tata Indicom was dependable (service on call) but expensive relative to speed.
After my impatience at BSNL office (trying to subscribe broadband) few months ago, only wired Broadband Iam thinking of trying out is "BEAM FIBER" in Hyderabad. People rave about it with as many complaints about down time every other week/month.

in kolkata cable broadband has earned some reputaion for their support. their net conection has low interuption compared to at least bsnl . but for better dnload and upload speed ,have to subscribe abv 1000/months schemes. i havent tested yet tataindicom wimax(intend to subscribe but a bit expensive) but one of my friend using it , report is good. bsnl may be cheapest solution but if u r professinal user , dont go for that ever. and if u see the linklight(in my case nokia siemens modem) some time blink in the middle of ur conection just unsubscribe bsnl, it will never be rectify, be sure. my scheme is rs 500/month with data limit 2.5 gb and from 2 am to 8 pam unlimited.

    Default Tataindicom Broadband

I was a customer since Tata took over Dishnet in 1994 I think. Service was overall OK but Since 2009, service started deteriorating. It took me ages and a lot of controlled patience to get the message across to them and finally I had to cancel my subscription after about 3 dozen e mails. They promised me to disconnect it at the end of the billing cycle, but it was disconnected overnight and I could not back up any of my mails from my Inbox provided by them. I lost a lot of valuable data. It took them 8 months to refund my credit balance. Certainly not the way to treat a quote " Most valuable customer". Unquote. Imagine if they can do this to a long standing customer then what about the recent customers. I had a 2 MBPS plan, speeds went down to under 10 KBPS. Customer care did not know the difference between Kb & KB. TIBB definitely a big NO for those of you who are planning to get one.

Tata Indicom broadband modem is still with me after 1 1/2 years. They have not yet collected it. But no bills or remainders.
    Mine was pre paid.
I used to pre pay every 3 months and buy the appropiate speed pack.
I had no serious downtime issues during 3-4 years. But I have sen lot of angry customers when I go their office to renew.
I called and they came to my door and filled application and gave ADSL connection. Any problem ,tech came with in 12 hours.
But for the price ,speed was low.
I did not bother what deposit I paid.
