Thread: Help on setting up Wireless Router with Tata Indicom

Hi Guys,

I have a Iball Baton 150 M wirless router with a Tata Indicom modem.

We were facing connectivity issues so my room mate did the reset of the router and now we can't connect to the Internet through the wirless router.

Now when we try to set the router up, we can connect in bridge mode , not in the router mode. We now have a reduced speed ( bordering on 10 Kbps )

After repeated calling and Tata Indicom service engineer visiting us, we can't seem to setup the router

We have searched through various forums and came to this forum. Guys if you can help us, we'll really Appreciate it

Give details of
Tataindicom modem/make number
also Iball baton model number.
There are hundreds of adsl modems and wifi routers.
Also:

set up only with Iball baton similar to Beetel 450TCI.

I was wondering if the default gateway for both the modem and wireless router can be same or not.

I just got the following info : 1st one is when connected to the modem through the ethernet cable and 2nd is when connected to the wireless network.

Did you enable DHCP?
Settings similar to Beetel 110TCI.

In computer
Start RUN type cmd OK
New window
type ipconfig /all

COPY/PASTE the LAN Network data here.

PART 2 : adding a wifi router

Change the RJ45 from computer end and connect to WAN port of
Iball Baton iB-WRX 150N.
Connect another RJ45 from LAN 1 to computer
Select DYNAMiC IP in wifi router.
Confirm Internet connection is OK.

Part 3: settings for wireless with security key .
Feedback.

PART 1: Using ONLY ADSL modem.
Confirm you can connect in PPPoE mode ( always ON) and enter
USERID/PW given by TataISP in WAN page of ZYxel P660.?????..... Adsl modem. -----------No we wern't provided with any username or password for connecting to the Internet. We just plug in the the lan cable and we can use the internet.


Did you enable DHCP? Yes we did enabled the DHCP.

Can you access the menu page of ZYxcel P660????? modem ?
You cannot see your USER ID and PW anywhere ?

Enabled DHCP. what range you gave >? 192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.150

It's working now.

The problem was that my modem and router were having same default gateway. So i just changed my router's gateway and now the wireless network is up and running

Hi guys

I am a new TTML user from Mumbai. They currently don't have a wi-fi router in stock and therefore, I have to configure my own router. I am using iBall's iB-WRX054G, which worked well with a Reliance connection until recently.

I set the connection in Dynamic IP mode. Don't think there is need of using the user id and password anywhere. Do we need to manually set IP address or DNS? I have also attached a couple of screenshots along with. Would be great if someone can help me out.

ASDSL modem :
confirm ADSL modem model/make number.
You have to connect in PPPoE mode ( store userID/PW in wan page of modem )
Enable DHCP.

wifirouter : Iball Baton ;

In wifi router Dyanmic Ip selection is Ok. rest routine.
Change the LAN address of router to 192.168.2.1


computer:
Click Diagnose and check whether Windows 7 corrects the fault.
Usually TCP/IP IPV4 properties page will be set for auto setting.

Para two:
You can also download an application called "connectify" free
version, and make one laptop as ACcess point ( short range)
No wifi router needed.

As essbebe said, just change the IP address of the Iball router to 192.168.2.1.
