Yes, you are right. Users should call TATA Indicom's TOLL FREE number 18002097070 and register the problem or complaint. I have always been attended for any query within 6 hours at the most.

I rate them 10. TATA Indicom are the best. I am an IT consultant and need the connection on 24 hours. I am using TATA Indicom since almost one year with 99.9% uptime. The few problems I had whether they are responsible for them or not (most of them not) were attended within hours on same day unless I called up in the middle of the night. Best value for money, I would say. No one else can match TATA facilities and service even if they take double the charges.

I got a Tata indicom broadband connection in the end of August 2008.
Cable and installation is done with 2 days , they also assigned an ip address for me , there is no link with that ip address.
So i started calling every day atleast 10 - 15 times a day for continuous 4 days . Every time they i'll say that he will be arriving in 1 hour or 30 mins but never turned up for the complete 4 days.
So finally i lost my patience and called the Nodal officer (Chennai) on 5 th day and blasted him like anything. He said that within 2 hours ur issue will be issue will fixed , i told him that if it is not going to be cleared that im going to write to the apealate authority about your service .
Finally after 4 hours a guy camme to my home and fixed eveything

Again now i've different problem i.e frequent disconnection (Link light will be on but data light is off) for the past 25 days and still fighting with them.
After 10 days of frequent call to toll free number and with a bunch of complaint number , finally spoke to nodal officer and today (31/10/2008)
came to my house and did something (checked the ip address and tried disabling and enabling the LAN card ) and said that everything fine so i made him to wait in my house (i was on leave today to my office b'coz of this issue and hard to catch the tech peoples) and browsed on the net for 10 mins and again got disconnected and showed him to check but he said it will be in some seconds but as usual it took 4-5 mins to connect back so in the mean time all upload and download file activites got cancelled b'coz of request timed out , i was automatically logged out of all the messengers .
He finally said that he is not the actual tech so he will bring the tech tomorrow to change the cable and to check with different DSL modem
so i 've finally decided to look for someother service providerso

For the people who are satisfied with tata indicom may be right in there place as they might just some casual users or they actually dont know that they are living in stone age with tata indicom's broadband technology.......

Sorry to be rude but if anyone goes for Tata even after reading all this he is real dumdum. Simple!
I haven't used their Internet service but I used their Walky service for 2 months and gave up on them. They said that I hadn't paid the amount although I had already deposited the check and they cut my line. After multiple calls to them they would say they had a technical difficulty and put back up my line and again cut it after 2-3 hrs. This continued throughout the 2 months. Finally, I got so frustrated that I stopped paying them cheques and subscribed to MTNL Landline and Triband which I must admit has been working really well and seems like heaven after using Tata. Then, as I wasn't paying them anymore they kept sending a guy to collect their instrument from me but I just wouldn't give itbecause I was sooooooo pissed and now I think I have settled my score for the one thousand rupees they made me lose just on the amount of trips the TATA guy has made to my house to collect the instrument and I still haven't given it
I also had a similar type of experience with TATA AIG but that was resolved as I emailed their CEO Trevor Bull about their utter bullcrap service who responded immediatelyafter which I received numerous apology calls from TATA employees and everything was fine. Overall, I made them suffer more than they made me!
So all those who are thinking about going for TATA. Do not go for TATA unless you really want to test you own patience and be a victim of cheating.

I have been using tata indicom broadband connection for the past 3 years. I am using infinity128. Of late there is a peculiar proble. It works fine in the mornings but around 7 to 8 pm init doesnt work. I have complained several times but the field engineer never comes in the evening to verify. I have given up lodging complaints.
Can anyone tell me what could be the reason?
Also, is Airtel Broadband better than this - tariffwise, servicewise?
I am Using TATA Broadband since 3 yrs in Hyderabad. Never had a serious trouble . i have 95% connectivity . never had a thought of changing plans![]()
Hi ..i am from Pune and basically use my tataindicom broad band 384 unlimited connection for gaming online and downloading movies....
When the connection is on...trust me ...its the best internet till now in my city...as i have used BSNL 2 mbps in my work place which is crappier....
The real picture comes out when u r in trouble and u have to talk to the uneducated CC guys (who learn english thru speaking course probably) who r just sitting there and give me a feeling that my complaint is falling on deaf ears and a Complaint no generating machine...
The CC guys r more worried on giving u a complaint no rather trying to understand the problem...Do they get paid more and a pat on their back from their TL if they give out more complaint nos on a day...GOD KNOWS....
After that the long wait for the Invisible Service person...whom i have not seen till today......
God only know how Tata INd...company is still surviving...probably only because of the nonsense tolerating nature of Indians.....but i am sure this will be over soon...
Hi I am using 256 kbps unlimited. They provide the worst service. Most of the time there internet connection is down. I stay in Mumbai...when there Internet connection is down...it will stay down for 4 to 5 dys...bloody bast**ds...everytime i have to remind them tht the Internet connection is down and only one reply from them our field engineers are working on it...wtf...bloody a**holes....i am really tired of them...f***.....bloody hell

i have received a bill of 2500 for downloading done in october because of the billing software, i agree that i had downloaded some trial software that time but i keep a track on my downloads which is 5000mb each month, so i never tracked October after i paid for that month.. how can you charge your customer for october in decmber? morover the connection in down minimum 3 times in a month & mostly on weekend when i use it the most.
To add insult to injury i am getting braodband bills from BSNL in my phoen bill for last three months which i dont have, when trying to file a complaint they are asking me to prove that i dont have BB from BSNL. how can i prove that ?? they must prove that i had takn a connection.. it amazing... i am really upset with the state internet is in our country.
I have been using Tata Indicom Wireline Broadband serivces for more than 2 years, there have not been any problme except few of the time whenever you need their services.
Their Customer Services are big time failure.
Now they move me to the Wimax services as a part of their drive and it just doesnt work whenever i require.
I am just with Tata indicom as i dont have much options available at my place.
In my case the tata indicom broadband service is very good.I don't know from which place u guys but in delhi i think the service of tata is good

I am using Tata Indicom's 384 unlimited plan.
The guy who installed it for me told me :
A. That the max speeds I will get is 30 Kbps
B. There might be intermittent losses once in a while.
However, in the past year or so, i have not seen a single unsolicited outage (except when there were power outages). Also, invariably, I get speeds of 35-40 Kbps for longer downloads as well (uptp 700 MB).
All in all, I think Tata Indicom rocks.
Since you are on 384 kbps plan, ideally u should be getting 48 kBps. U can shift to 256kbps plans and enjoy the same speeds which you are enjoying now, but at a lower price.
i don't know who said this to you ... i am using tata indicom 384 UL connection and i get more than the mentioned speed constantly all the time ... here is a snap of the DU meter stopwatch average download speed for a period of 2min 30 seconds ....
these kind of rumours about speed only spoils the reputation of a good ISP
From my side, i give 100 to tata indicom. I have been using tataindicom broadband in my house for last 8 months from now. The connection was served to me after 1 month after filling the form. They said your house is at a very long distance from our nearest connection. My house was just on some 50 feet from their last connection.
Also, It costs me about Rs.500 per month for 1GB download, which is slightly more costly when you compare it with other broadband service providers. Their service has disappointed me n am thinking to try BSNL service. They are very reliable and there support is simply great.
Got to experience tata indicom today at Toyota's customer lounge while waiting for my vehicle to be looked at. I should say that i am impressed with the speeds which i got to experience in that connection today. It was just blazing and i felt like i was using my BSNL 2mbps.
Well BSNL is a wired connection. So it is bound to be stable at all times unlike wireless connection*. The experience which i had yesterday with Tata indicom maybe an isolated case. BSNL's H500 plans are the best IMO. During the free time, i am able to clock 5.5GB worth download.
*I had used some wireless connection of TI yesterday
