Thread: Tata Indicom ( 7 star broadband in mumbai)

Hi all,

Firstly I must say this forum is a great initiative.

I am currently using a MTNL ADSL @ 2Mbps connection and am planning to move to an unlimited Tata Indicom thru cable connection. The connection is great but its very expensive for downloads. Ideally I wish to download 1GB per day and am wondering if a 128 Kbps connection would be good enough. Also how many hours would such a download take thru the same connection? I live in Andheri (Mumbai). Anyone using the same please help me out.

Well if you are willing to run your computer whole day then you would be able to download 1 GB per day and as of the 1 mbps line i think it would be good for high speed download as in this you would be able to download 1 GB in approx. 1 and half hour.

My friend lives in chennai and he is also very satisfied with TATA broadband connection. I think this is the best ISP in this south region..

Thats very true. I am from Bangalore and am a eral good fan of Tata Indicom Broadband. I havent had a single problem yet. Instead they are exceeding myu expectations. Guys I got the connection in just 1 business day after applying online. What more can I expect.

Well i understand the people in Mumbai have a bad time with this. But am sure tata being such a huge concern wont let u dissappointed for a longer time.

They are obviously not doing business in Mumbai. They do NOT offer broadband connections in Mumbai, and their dialup connections do NOT work at all either.

Their only presence in Mumbai seems to be a call center where they answer calls and say they can't do anything for you.

I have been a Tata Broadband Customer in Mumbai for 6 months and I want to share my personal experiences with you so that you should go through the mental truama of being a TATA customer.First of all it is the king of downtimes,its not working most of the times.Customer Service is very poor and not existent,Technicians are rude and use your computer to check personal emails,These people employ goondas who disconnect the connection on purpose and use abusive and threatening language on the phone (Mr Bhavesh I am talking about you),Once your renewal time is near these crazy people will harass you day and night to get the renewal done.
FIRST OF ALL TATA PROVIDES SUCH EXCELLENT SERVICE AND THEN EXPECT US TO RENEW.THIS IS CRAP...
AND TATA IS CRAP.
WORST ISP IN MUMBAI HANDS DOWN......
