Thank you for giving such a detailed explaination...... I could complete all steps of Router Configuration as you mentioned...... My connection is a Reliance's WiMAX with a PoE box...... So your description exactly matches my case....... Now after having configured the Router, my Laptop gets an IP 192.168.1.100...... Is this IP ok??? and if it is, then still my Internet is not working...... The WAN icon in the Router Setup page shows my ISP's IP...... (123.xxx.yyy.zzz)..... So is it ok for my Laptop to have a different IP like 192.168.1.100....... (I understand that the Network Address Translation servers should do the job of Local and Global IP mapping/translation, is that right...??).... But finally the internet is not working..... Where could the problem be...?? Plus, my laptop has a Intel Pro(R)/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection hardware...... There's a big Red cross on that icon..... Seemingly to suggest that there's no wireless connectivity present..... Do I have to configure anything for this hardware item to detect & establish Wireless network connectivity....?? When I check its properties, it shows that this hardware is running ok...... Currently, I have only my laptop getting connected to the router...... I did all the configurations with the RJ45 Cat 5 cable connected between the Router and my laptop....... When should one remove that cable and go wireless.....??? How should I find out whether the Router is transmitting wireless....?? | |

Rep Power: 2 | I have a Telenet FSL8313 Wimax Modem in delhi and i access the modem page by entering 192.168.0.1 or 168.254.1.1 and username and password are admin/admin. The speed is good and about signal strength is 23 and anything above 21 is good |

| If you want the admin privileges of the ss do not use admin/admin as user name and password instead use the following credentials User Name:root Password:telsimawl With above credentials you will get the RWX permissions regards Venky |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi, TATA Wimax are using two types of modem one is from Telsima/Starmax whoes IP is 192.168.1.1 & username password is root/telsimawl. Other modem they use is from USI whoes IP is 169.254.1.1 & username password for same is admin/admin. to connect telsima modem u need to configure lan ip as 192.168.0.10 (Otherthan 192.168.1.1) & for USI lan ip may be 169.254.1.10 (again other than 169.254.1.1). Please do not change anything as both the modems configuration are not user friendly as ADSL/Wifi Modem. U can not configure DHCP/auto login unless & untill TATA people configure from their server side. Enjoy, Pratik |
