Connect the LAN port of your TATA Indicom modem/router to the internet port of WRT54G via an ethernet LAN (RJ45) cable. COndigure WRT54G as follows:

    - if TI modem/router is configured in PPPoE mode, configure WRT54G in Automatic DHCP (bridge) mode. Follow the WRT54G steps from this guide: http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...onnection.html (Solution for multiple machines connecting to same BB connection)

    - if TI modem/router is configured in bridge mode, configure WRT54G in PPPoE mode. Follow the WRT54G steps from this guide: http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...er-wrt54g.html (Setup of ADSL Modem/Router UT-300R2U with Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G)

Default Linksys wireless router and tataindicom broadband

    1) Your ADSL router (given by tataindicom) should be having IP of 192.168.1.1. Just ensure that the wireless router IP not in 192.168.1.* series.
    2) Open up your router home page. Initally for Linksys wireless router it will be having a default IP of 192.168.1.1. change it to 192.168.2.1 and that should do the trick.

Hi guys. I have not been given any device by tata. Instead a lan cable is given which is supposed to be attached to my computer's lan port. I tried and was able to configure in static ip mode in my linksys wrh54g router. Trying to set it up in pppoe mode but have not met with any success yet.

All help is most welcome to configure in pppoe. Please guide.

I Have the same setup. (Ethernet cable/No modem). I have Static IP and have made the connections and configured the router for static IP. My setup works sometimes.. There is a indicator on the Belkin router that shows you whether router is connected to the Internet. Most of the times, it shows connected, but my Vista laptop keeps responding "Local only" connection instead of "Local & Internet' and I never get the web dialer page. After multiple resets of the router/comp, it may or may not work.
To make matters worse, our tata engineer insists that they have to bind MAC, which means I can use only one device at a time. SO I have now bound my router's MAC. When the wireless connection fails, I can not connect at all!

For WIMAX , mention details of the modem supplied by ISP.
Understand you dial with USERID/PW everytime you want to connect to your ISP.

For a normal ADSL modem connection:
After connecting to Internet , transfer the rj45 from computer end to
    Linksys WAN/Internet port.
Connect another RJ45 from LAN1 to computer etc.
details for WRT54G on your feedback.
