Default How to Increase Speed of "Upto 2 Mbps" Plans?

Hi Forumers,

I subscribe to the Time Based Pre-paid package(s) offered by Tata Indicom Broadband. The speed is suppsoedly "Upto 2 Mbps". However, I rarely get anything above 256 Kbps speed.

Now, most of my internet usage is for playing online mmo games like World of Warcraft. These are not the generic Flash 3D games that one plays on the internet, but are quite resource consuming, and require a fast and stable net connection.

My specific problem is that the game Server is located somewhere in US, and I always get high latency of around 600ms and above. This is often considered bad.

I believe the latency can and will drop a lot if I could get speed of 512 Kbps or above. Since my connection plan says "Upto 2Mbps" speed, it should be possible to get speeds of 512 Kbps or even 1 Mbps. However, from what I understand, with these schemes, the speed allocated for each session is randomly allocated.

Is there any way to ensure that I get stable and consistent speed of 512Kbps -1 Mbps with these schemes?

Cheers,
Bhaswar

Are you talking about kbps or kBps? There is a difference on how speed is displayed on computer (it is denoted in kBps).
