    Thumbs down not getting a new connection pls help PHOTON BUYERS BEWARE !!!

    guyz i had issued a cheque to a tata photon sales person who visited my place last week , my cheque got cleared last saturday and my installation according to the sales person was suppose to be done this monday till date no has called me for the installation , now out of curiousity i called the customer people in mumbai and told them regarding this issue and to my suprise they told me the photon is out of stock since a long time and my slaes person should have told me that .

    i have already complained twice since yesterday but the customer service department is really pathetic they just keep telling me that they will forward my complain to the concerned department and there the story ends.

    now can someone pls tell me what should be my next step ? or shall i wait and not loose my patience.

    my sales person has stopped recieving my calls .

    Looters.... Why dont u threaten that you ll sue him if he does not return the money... and go in person...

    How much did that cost btw?

    Azter even i live in MUmbai and waiting for my Photon !


    Btw how much speed u getting ?

    I live in Thane so will the speed same everywhere ?

    Oh that was sad as well as surprising! My friend got the connection within a weeks time installed, activated and working brilliantly!!!

    Its Rs. 1500 per month, unlimited plan. Activation charges Rs. 1000.

    I was using this on my friend lappy yesterday and the speed was BRILLIANT!!! Be assured you've made the right choice. Il try to ask my friend for a speedtest printscreen!

    I am interested TATA photon. Now I am using BSNL GPRS for surfing net. It is possible to d/l from rapidshare server without waite as free user. I face very problem by BSNL GPRS, due to they use proxy ( i hope) for that. Any trouble in case of TATA photon?

    Many ISPs are providing deficient services to the customer. First they collect payment in advance. Then they say that service will be provided when cheque is cleared. Then they delay the installation/service citing any damn reason - modem is not available, installation person is busy/will come in two days, etc.

    Do any other services insist on payment first, goods much-much later? When you go to a shop to buy something, don't you get the goods as soon as you pay? When you buy a pre-paid mobile recharge voucher, do you not get the talk time card/voucher as soon as you pay?

    So people. Refuse to pay advance. Don't let them bully you into saying that "our policy is collect first and then we will provide the service (at our convenience)."

    Two years ago, when I had no broadband, I approached Tata Indicom. They said the same thing. I told them, come first, install first, show me that everything is working and collect my cheque the same day. They said "not our policy, etc.". I told them "my policy". I am happy that BSNL provides service first and asks payment later.

    But the problem lies in the system, the indian public has been made used to the idea that these companies have the real say on things.
    Like just4kix i had a awful awful experience with TATA indicom (wired) BB abt 2 years ago,to the extent that i avoided any service with the TATA tag.
    Well my reaction was the totally boycott of the company and its services, i figured, they shouldn't fill their pockets with my money after treating me with ignorant service.

    Had relatively pleasant experiences after i switched to BSNL and then later to Airtel BB..
    That makes me wonder is there any way to take the fight to these Ignorant ISP's?

    I did not have any good experience with any of the products of Tata Indicom. Be it mobile, landline or internet services.
    May be its the only Tata Company that does not believe in the Tata motto.

    That's a very standard thing :-) Once you fill the initial application form - they don't care about you anymore ;-) I had the same thing with YouTele as well
