    Angry Low Speed Tata Photon +

    I bought a Tata Photon + on 31st July 2009 having number 9230040689 and account number 934185426.

    After using the photon I found that speed is very very low. I contacted customer support they gave me various settiing but couldnot increase the speed. The speed I was getting was in the range of 100 to 300 kbps. This was tested from the website provided by Tata support executive. The complaint was registered vide email on august 10 2009 vide docket number 184342283.

    Various executive visited my house, changed various setting in the computer but could not increase the speed. They checked with 2-3 computers at various locations in house and even used their own laptop to check but of no avail.

    On complaining to nodal office on august 11 2009 he closed the call informing me that speed between 256 kbps to 600 kbps is Ok. and had no explanation why my Photon is working so slow.

    On appealling to to Applleate Authority vide no. 193074549 dated 14th October 2009 I am yet to receive any answer.

    I hv stopped using the connection and is running around to get my refund from the comapny, for this expensive white elephant where the ad claims speed upto 3.1 MBPs but comapny says it is not possible.

    They dont have speed in kbps also leave alone MBPS

    Take a demo where you want to use it. Some of there towers are not capable of giving desired speed. So throughly check and test where u use it. otherwise speed can be as low as 70-100kbps.

    dear friend, ive been victim of TI and i ve xperience a very slow connection which i dont want to have even in my dream and remember dont go for demo.
    why not go for Bsnl.

    Hello,

    TATA photon + demo is fake. You will find superb download speed in demo. But once your postpaid connection started they will switch you to tata photon wihz

    NEVER EVER GO FOR TATA PHOTON POSTPAID. AND TATA INDICOM PLEASE DON'T REPLY TO THIS POST AND SAY SORRY FOR INCONVENICE CAUSE TO YOU PLEASE PROVIDE US THIS AND THAT AND WILL FIX IT .

    Angry Miserable speeds of tata photon+

    I purchased a tata photon+ about 4 months back. It gives me miserable speed. about 20kbps. I have to wait for a whole 3-4 minutes just for a single page to come up.I was reminded of my childhood days when we used to have a dial up connection. I am stuck with it now since i paid some 1200Rs for the USB. I d understand as to why do they promise speeds of 3.1Mbps which they have n intention of keeping

    Dear Crysis, and others experiencing low photon speeds,

    First of all, I have had my fair share of problems with Photon+, but I have found their help desk willing and capable of trying to find a solution. In my experience with the ISPs, Photon is very much better on this aspect alone.
    BSNL is by far the slowest connection (although it is available in more areas). I agree that a demo has fast speeds - its just a business tactic which ALL ISPs use.
    You all have to understand that the Photon people will try to genuinely improve your speeds by coming to your location and trying out various stuff. But if your are at a low signal point, then you will have to accept the limitations. BY ALL MEANS DEMAND EQUAL SPEEDS AS IN THE DEMO but you should be in the same location where the demo was carried out. Otherwise try out the various providers, and see which one gives you the best signal/ speed combination. Photon staff genuinely make an attempt to solve your problem if it is genuine - no other ISP does this so well.
    From my personal experience I have found them flexible on many issues, such as data usage. They have given me extra data usage whenever I complained about discrepancies. I don't think anyone else would be so flexible. You can also send your complaints up to "President" level just by a webpage link. For these reasons alone. I am taking a second Photon connection for the firm I am working in. I can be contacted at anilanian@gmail.com anytime.

    Dear Meghnamg,
    Click the Photon icon, and check that its showing a good signal strength, then click on the settings button, and select Network. Make sure you select only Photon+ from the list. Then accept the settings, and see if there is a strong signal. You should be able to get high speed access (provided your scheme is enabled for this). If you have an account type that has limited high speed data usage, then you will naturally have SLOW speed access after the limit is used up. If you need tips on improving signal reception, then write to me at anilanian@gmail.com. Good luck!, and dont give up on Photon, they are generally better than the other service providers.

    Default Objective complaint required

    Dear Johnny,
    I got your thread, but there isn't any feedback as such - negative or positive. . I am in the IT tech field, and maybe I can help with issues such as signal improvement. If Photon doesnt satisfy you then shove their connection, but keep in mind that one has to be objective with any issues. Do write to me if u have any issues i can help with concerning any ISP.

    Recently one of my relatives in Kolkata,had his TATA Photon Modem burnt!he used it only on his laptop.He was in the 950/- post paid.Not very particular about the speed,but was OK.Initially the Customer care told him to pay for the damaged Modem,later they obliged and replaced his Modem.
