hi i bought photan plus 10 days back.but i ma not at all getting speed at least up to 1mbps. download speed is very bad for me..its only 10 kbps -20 kbps .can any one suggest how i can improve my speed??

PHOTON plus or wi Max connection speed depends on the strength of the signal.
you must be far from the nearest telephone tower.that's why you are getting low speed.

Try moving around in the house and see if you get better signal in another room...

As we know that 8 bits=1 Byte

Therefore, 1 Mb (Megabit) must be equal to 1/8 MB [200 KB (KiloByte)]

So, the download speed must be equal to 200 KB/sec. (approx)

and you are getting 10-20 KB/sec. as you have posted above,

and that is a very low speed (10-20 Times slower) you are getting.

This could be because,

1. The Downloading server which you are downloading files from, does not support high bandwidth for you or it is capping its speed.
2. You are low on signal strength, because you are far away from tower or quite misplaced your position. Try changing your room.
3. Some of your PC software like Viruses, malware, antiviruses, antispyware etc. are using your bandwidth.

You can try this on other computer...

Noone ever replies when you write to the e-mail of tata customer care. I took a demo of tata photon plus in my area and the network there is terrible.The connection was disconnecting frequently and the speed was at most only 10kBs(80kbps). On calling the customer care people, they said that the network in that area will not improve. So be careful to first check the network in the areas you will be in most of the times by having a demo.Guys, it is not true their claim that they provide HSP1A in the cities mentioned in their website. In reality, it is a blend of both HSP1A and when there is congestion , you will get CDMA
network.
How is BSNL Evdo?
Is it PAN India?

You can read other people`s comments also. The gist is that 3G or 2G network unlike broadband depends on how far from the tower is the area, number of users logged on the network.Which areas in Delhi was the network good?
