I don't know how true this is or if I even read it correct on an ad, but according to a recent ad i saw on TV Tata DoCoMo is charging 1 paisa per 2 seconds on a call. Which I think is the cheapest or any mobile telephone provider.

I think Tata was the first to announce the 1 paisa per second new feature, and because other mobile providers are competing with them, Tata DoCoMo is going one step ahead.

On-Net Calling Pack offers daily 3600 seconds of free calling to all Tata DoCoMo mobiles across Tamil Nadu. The subscriber needs to pay only for the first 120 seconds@ 2p/sec and enjoy the remaining 3,600 seconds absolutely free, after which all calls to Tata DoCoMo mobiles would be charged at 1p/6sec. Calls to other networks would be charged at 1p/sec. This pack also offers daily 200 free SMS to any local or national network across India. To avail this offer, new customers should get their first recharge with Rs.18/- while existing subscribers can recharge with Rs. 21/-juice up pack.

Tata DoCoMo, the GSM brand of Tata Teleservices Ltd, has launched an aggressive calling pack for its prepay subscribers in the State. These packs are applicable for all existing and potential subscribers. The prepay calling pack offers calls to anywhere in India, on any network at just 40 paise a minute, which is just 0.66 paise a second. The first 60 seconds of calls every day (local and STD) would be charged at 1.33 paise a second after which all calls will be charged at 0.66 paise a second. The pack also comes with additional benefit of free 200 local or STD SMSs every day by paying for only the first two local or STD SMSs for the day. Post consumption of the 200 free SMSs, local SMSs will be charged at 60 paise a SMS, national SMS at Rs 1.20 a SMS and international SMS at Rs 5 a SMS. To avail this offer, new customers should get their first recharge with Rs 24 which has a talk time of Rs 5 while existing subscribers can recharge with Rs 29, which has a talk time of Rs 15.
