I am neither in favour nor against such threads. While it is nice to have this information, it is freely available on the website. Also new channels keep getting added/deleted. And it does not matter how many channels are available, what matters is how are they packaged and how much hole they will create in my pocket.

But I appreciate the effort you have taken.

utv movies comes in only one package -> the lifestyle gold package ... it is a real value for money package ... only for rs.45 per month...

i got ur point ... actually the main site of tata sky doesnt gives a channel list like this ... the channels are divided in various packages there ...

This list is quiet helpfull. On the site it is full of icons. So seeing the whole list is difficult. Thanks a lot for this.

9xm, ibn7 - hindi news channel (sister channel of cnn-ibn), active cooking ...

These are South Indian channels. Apparently, very popular in the south. My fav of these if 9XM. Not too keen on Hindi news after all the "sansani".

I think the list is rather old. Tata SKy has removed the DD Saptagiri channel around 5 months or even earlier.
Since 3 months Zee Telugu is coming on 821.

Thus the list is irrelevant.

but i dont think it was the case when this thread was created. unfortunately i cannot edit the main post now.

This happened because - i once subscribed for full package of tata sky - i.e all channels available with them. and once you subscribe to a package - all the channels of it are listed after that in the guide menu even if you unsubscribe the package. the list only gets updated once the package is subscribed for again.

but, i dont agree with the point that the list is irrelevant. the list has been created on 24th jan and if you see carefully - you will find many recent updates in it which were not present earlier.

example:

553 - (English/Hindi) Fox History & Entertainment Channel - channel name

856 - STAR Jalsha - new channel

there are many such examples in the list. i will have to check the entire list to cite more such examples.

No point in serving TataSky. they don't pay any commission to you or me.
they are ruthless in their business. They never part a paise, even if is not belonging to them.all, the call centre fellows are powerless. they can only canvass for their business. no logic, no rule nothing. BTW, they have their own way to AD for their business. why to waste our site space. Most owners know of the channels they offer.

As I said in my earlier post, I am neither in favour nor against such "channel lists". That is my public policy.

Personally, I believe that such a thread is pointless and waste of space.

a) As mvs_sarma (and I), pointed out, the list is fairly dynamic and prone to change very soon - the original author will not be able to update it.

b) Again as mvs_sarma observes, why advertise freely for someone who can do that for themeselves?

c) One might say that a quick cross link can be established between channel number and name. My take is, an average person has eight to ten (or maybe even fifteen) favourite channels. These channel numbers can be easily remembered in no time at all.

d) Finally, and I said this before, what is the point of the full channel list? What matters most is what channels are available in what package and at what cost. And this information is available on the website.

So let us have no more debates on this. Those who find the thread useful, please click on the Rate Thread (TATA Sky - Full channel list - updated) link and rate the thread. Those who find this thread not very useful, just ignore it.
