It would have been if u had specified monthly cost u can afford..
Take south jumbo pack.. U ll get almost all channels..
Or else pay 5k u ll get all channels for 1year

Though you have already said that you want to take Tata sky, But let me tell you if you are looking for English movies then dishtv have the max number of english movie channels and have MGM and TCM as exclusive channels.

If you like news channels then also dishtv have more then 15-20 news channels which is lot more then tatasky.

If you want cricket the dishtv has all the sports channels aprt from Neo sports channels and also you know all the ODI and t-20 matches are available on dd national so don't miss any cricket on dishtv.

So If planning to take dish tv then go for platinum pack

I would suggest that you have a look at the Tata Sky packages on their website. Based on your choice, select a base pack as per your requirement. Then, go for lifestyle gold addon pack and a sports pack of your choice. Thus, one base pack and two addons will give you approx the same channels as Cable. Just do some R & D and make an informed decision. No of channels dont matter, what matters is which channels are those.

I would suggest annual super pack+ the sports platinum.. however this is something u shld take a look urself on their site nd decide.. thatll be the best way to go about it..

For English Movies (or movies in general), DishTV is a better choice. As neo001 mentioned, MGM and TCM are exclusive to DishTV. MGM shows really nice movies and TCM shows some classic old movies (B&W too).

And I refuse the argument that TataSky's quality is miles ahead of DishTV - maybe a shade better but that's about it.

Your needs are not much.i think you can switch on to local cablewala for that.

Days of cablewallahs are long gone, DTH is the new future. Slowly DTH will take over. I am an old Dish Tv customer. I use DISH in my one TV and just few days back got second connection of Tata Sky. You can easily notice the quality. Tata Sky is far better than Dish. But in the end choice is yours.

what do you watch so much?are you a cable reseller?

Whatz a cable reseller? The TS is for the second TV. what i meant was that i use Dish in one tv and TS on other tv.

by the way,i have same cablewala connection on all tv sets of my house and they all have same quality.i pay for one.i don see Russian or chinese channels so thats good.and i have good quality too.

the super saver pack along with the lifestyle gold package and a few sports packages according to your needs would suffice to your needs

biddu tata sky has one great advantage over dish tv.neo sports.so it better if he takes neo sports coz all series played in india is shown on neo sports.and moreover how many english channels is he gonna watch.star movies,hbo axn is enough.these r the best.the only problem with tata sky is that sports channels is under add on packages.u gotta subscribe every month.other wise its okay.clarity,reception is quite good.

The best of one, maybe the worst of other. Those are individual preferences!!

This is not an advantage of tata sky, Neo channels are not their on dishtv, but dishtv viewers will be able to see all the matches live on dishtv via dd national channel as all the matches playes in india will be telecast on dd national. So we don't need any neo sports on dishtv . dishtv viewers were hardly miss only test matches and that are max 3-4 a year. So i think its not a good option that for hardly 20-25 days of cricket we subscribe to costly neo channels which cost about Rs.40 per month.

But Neo has some other good sports too. I think neo is a great channel and Dish should add it too.

Well Love to watch cricket only, so its from my point of view. You might be right that neo has some other sports as well. but how many of us would really like to spend such a hefty amount on this channel for other sports other rthen cricket. hardly a few people. Because in india every body would love to watch cricket only.

depends on personal choice actually ... i also mostly watch cricket on neo ... but i loved watching the rugby WC on neo ... i also watch the german bundesliga and tennis matches in india ...
