Tata sky is totally disregarding south indian viewers. It is aiming for creamy and affluent indian society. South indian viewers especially kannada subscribers are taken for a ride.

Tata Sky does not carrry the following:
Kasthuri
Suvarna News
TV 9 English
Zee kannada (need not be "la carta" for south jumbo pack subscribers at least)

How on earth south jumb pack which is supposed to include most of popular south regional channels does not carry the above channels as well as the following channels are beyond one's wild imagination.

Jaya max

Tata sky earns millions from its subscriptions across india and as a carriage fees from channels. As a subcriber of tata sky, one should not be begging from tata sky for new channels...Tata sky is obliged for the same.

Once upon a time, we were at the mercy of local cable operators and now the time has changed..We are at the mercy of sophisticated cheats..

Please reply with your comments and the regional channels you want on tata sky. Jago grahak jago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well its true that Tata sky did not have good collection of South channels in any of their packages.

For south region dishtv will have good collection of south channels channels and have max number of Tamil and telugu channels and also contains all the good channels from kanada and malayalam.

at least tata sky have some special packages for south viewers like the south starter pack, south jumbo pack etc .... it lacks even more in other regional channels. there are only 6 bengali channels in tata sky where as the local cable operators here provide more than 30 bengali channels ...

Saurav, that is the exact point i wanted to make. I have no idea about other regional channels ..so sorry!. Until and unless customer becomes proactive, tata sky will take customers for a ride.

See, i understand your problem. but tata sky is targeting national audiences and not focusing on any specific region. can you imagine how many channels they will need to satisfy every region with more numbers of regional channels. I basically dont feel much need of regional channels. Its ok with me. But i understand the regional priorities also.

what do you mean by national audience? Does English and hindi channels constitute national viewership? My boss different regions with different tastes constitute India. Wanting more regional channels is not a shame. My dear friend, why are u satisfied with what is served to you..Wish for more, it is your right.
Tata sky is bound to provide all the 30 bengali channels that ur erstwhile cable guy was providing. Anyway Tata sky is not doing charitable service. We are paying heavily for the channels and they are bound to provide whatever customer wants. Loser always compromises.

I never said that wanting more regional channels is a shame. Now if you say tata sky should provide 30 channels for a region - can you imagine how many channels they will need in their pocket? afterall its not a local cable operator who provides more channels for their region. the set of channels is same everywhere for DTH services. Yes, they should provide more regional channels. But if you see other DTH services which provides more regional channels like Dish TV, Sun DTH - they are lacking behind tata sky, airtel DTH as a whole. they get the preference only in the region they provide more channels for. And i said i dont mind less regional channels from tata sky because personally i dont watch regional channels much. and moreover i do have a cable TV connection also at my home for other rooms. so, the purpose of regional channels is solved by that when i need them. Its just my indifference towards the lack of regional channels of tata sky which i tried to explain to you.

I dont agree with all this. This all talk of "bias" is all rubbish. Why will Tata Sky have anything personal against kannadigas? Look, India has many states with different languages. There are differnet channels for each language as well. It will be IMPOSSIBLE to have every channel for every language. You may want some channels but others dont. Get real! I too would like to watch some channels cannot follow that. No DTH provider or even Cable provider gives ALL the channels. Plus, when you are buying a package you know exactly what channels you are going to get. I don't want to discuss this topic any further as this is neither practical nor feasable.

complacency that is what that is there in tata sky.they have lot of urban customers-many who hardly worry about cost,splurge money on addon packs.But,they are doing a big mistake.SUN direct realised this point.nowadays make a tour of karnataka-outside bangalore,even in small villages and towns-there is a sun direct on each house.what matters is cost and what we get.when the people get all the kannada channels and even the english and hindi ones of tata sky at a much lower rate and same quality(even better with MPEG4).why will they go for TS?Surely,tata sky and airtel digital can be contended only in metros if they don't realise their folly soon....
And for people like us who got tata sky in the beginning-i think we have no better option then cursing them

All DTH operaters are not interested in southen region viewers. They are only concentate on north region viewers only.
