Thread: This is bugging me since forever

Okay since i bought tata sky which was 2 years ago
this channel zee cafe has been sounding like ****
it never sounded nowhere near the other channels
i mostly watch US content so this have been a big bummer for me
Does anybody know how to solve this issue?
i've called tata sky cc hundred times since 2 years
they don't do a thing about it
i'm planning to throw tata sky's stb onto one of their
ppl's head and opt for a new dth service
and oh please let me know if any other dth has the same sound

as you said only that channel is having problem that means the help you can get is from company only.... try taking that STB to your dealer and ask him to rectify that just dont call CC they will never come... you only take that STB with your complaint number and ask them to solve it, they may help you... I have Dish TV and Zee cafe is same a other channels, its good

There's no problem with the STB
all that you said wont help either
cuz the cc said every tata sky customer has the same problem
and they are trying to rectify it
but they never do!!!

i didnt mean there is problem in STB, you told were thinking of dumping and getting a new connection for that i told atleast go & refund it...!

Adjust boss adjust !! this is the most common reply most members of this forum have. Whatever channels they provide to you and whatever service they provide to you, you have to bear with it. Because these ardent supporters (many members of this forum ) of tata sky come to their rescue.

I don't understand. If we say something bad about Tata Sky on this forum will it make any difference to the service? I don't see any co-relation between Tata sky service, "Adjustment" and people defending it. Good service is everyone's right . No one is doing anyone a favour by giving good service. That is what you have paid for. However, what even I would like to point out is that if you quit Tatasky where will you go? Big Tv has problems, Dish Tv has problems and now even Airtel Digital Tv has its own problems. So I think there is no point singling out one DTH for criticism.

and i know that every DTH has their own problems
but as i mentioned before i just need the channels
that air international content to be good
but anyway since i'm moving to a new house in
few months i'll wait till then to buy Airtel digital tv
(yes i'm going for airtel) now i'll be watching zee cafe
with clear picture and will try to keep my mind and ears as opened as i can to be able to understand the audio as its crappy as hell
God there's a lot of compromising to do in India, tehee.

never really watched Zee Cafe, will watch a bit tonight and find out if there is something wrong with the sound or if its just your service?

In fact not only Zee cafe, all zee channels picture and audio quality on Tata sky is not good as compared to other channels.

Either Zee Telefilms is not providing the content in the proper signal strength (to TataSky) or TataSky is deliberately not showing Zee Channels with proper strength.

I wonder who is the culprit.

I have a Hathway decoder so that happens to be my frame of reference. And the reason I'm talking about this in spite of the fact that I have a Hathway decoder and not a Tata Sky decoder is because the problem people have with the sound on channels like Zee Cafe has to do with the channel, and not the decoder.

Channels like Zee Cafe and Zee Studio transmit sound in MONO, not in STEREO. I can't go into technicalities here, but the result is that whatever happens those channels sound awful. And when you watch them through a decoder, the same audio issues are magnified. In other words, while what you want to hear sounds clearer, what you don't want to hear sounds clearer as well.

There is no point in relentlessly pursuing Tata Sky for the above problems because unless the channel (Zee, for example) decided to transmit in stereo sound, it will continue to sound terrible, whatever your decoder is.

Try disconnect one audio channel , either left or right
atleast audio restores, to mono. I have many a time this problem on select channels

Yes reseating the cable sometimes also help as there may be loose or faulty connection.
