Default New Tata Sky remote needed

My tata sky remote is on the verge of breaking, the back part (where you put the batteries) of it is broken, and the side parts of remote seem as if they going to fall apart.

Can i get a new remote, and if so for how much?

Recently I purchased new Tatasky remote at Lamington Road Just for Rs. 125 and it is working perfectly. You can get this remote at any roadside bigger remote control shop.

But it is the original remote or a fake, because there is no point in paying money for something which is fake and which will not turn out to be good.

I don't know if this will be possible, but are you able to get the back part separating too, i mean the detachable batter cover.

There are universal remotes available that do all the work.

You should first to to TataSky and request for a new remote. If they ask an exhorbitant price, say above Rs. 400/-, then go for an after market remote.

Not necessarily. It is better to go for a known quality. A remote is a remote. As long it appears to be of good quality and is sturdy, you can go for it. After all remote just sends some infra-red codes to the device.

In the US, I had purchased a universal remote (from Wal*Mart) and it used to control my VCR, TV and STB.

I would recommend that you go for genuine one too. It will help in long term.
