Default tata sky to my laptop

I have laptop model acer aspire 4710z. I am using windows vista and xp both. I want have a tata sky connection. If I bought a TV tuner card, can I connect it with TATA sky. I am not sure whether my LCD display monitor will support TV tuner card. If yes, then what type of tv tuner card I need. Is it harmful to use a TV tuner card in laptop? Pls assist.

    Thanks in advance.

I want to know how will I know that my laptop supports TV Tuner Card. thanks.

I was facing a similar situation with my PC. I solved this by connecting the video out (yellow) connector to the composite input of my TV Tuner. Then I used a wire (which I got free of charge for a wireless headset) to combine the white and red audio connectors into a single 3.5 mm connector which I connected to my TV Tuner's audio in. I think this is optional and you can connect either of the audio wires to your input. You can also use your computer's mic in socket for this. By changing the appropriate video and audio sources in your TV Tuner card's config, it is possible to watch television on your system. BTW I did this on a Pinnacle PCTV Stereo 100i card on a desktop computer. Hope this helps
