Thread: New Movie Channels from Tata Sky

Its only today that I noticed that Tata Sky now has 3 I think new movie channels, which include MGM, WB and TCM!

I was just waiting for WB to start! But I haven't yet activated it! How much extra is each channel? Any ideas?

Yeh I saw that too but it is not included in the plan I have got... its called cosmo pack and it is Rs450 per year and if you want to pay monthly it would cost you Rs45 per month.
Will add it tomorrow

Great news for TataSky viewers. But it is only going to make the (already expensive) package more expensive.

Cosmo Pack is new Add-on package offered by Tata Sky. It consists of the following 4 channels:

• WB
• MGM
• TCM
• NDTV Lumière

Monthly Cost: Rs 45
Annual Cost: Rs 450

No idea about "NDTV Lumière" but the other three channels definitely show excellent movies. Add them to your package, if you watch English movies often.

I would go for the annual pack it would be economical. Since I watch a lot of movies these channels will be worth it.

I hardly get any time to watch TV at all. I could, if I wanted to but I am so used to watch non-stop movies on DVDs that the idea of watching a 90~120 minute movie over 3 hours filled with so many ad breaks is too painful and distracting.

One thing I observed or maybe my imagination - WB seems to show less ad content.

No you are right, I too have noticed the interval of ads are less in a movie on WB.

Good for Tata sky viewers. On the other hand another price burden on Tata sky subscribers as Rs.45 is very very costly consedering these channels. So that makes already expensive Tata sky pack more expensive.

Now the total Cost For North Super saver Pack Rs.275+ Sports Rs.65+ 40 (Neo) + Rs.20 (Ten Sports) + Life Style Gold Rs.45+ Cosmo Pack Rs.45 = Rs.490 and Still Missing few Channels and Services.

Now the total Cost For South , South Jumbo Rs.310+ Sports Rs.65+ 40 (Neo) + Rs.20 (Ten Sports) + Life Style Gold Rs.45+ Cosmo Pack Rs.45 = Rs.525 per month and Still Missing few Channels and Services.

First people cry there's no WB no movie channels and now its the price that matters, do they come under the influence of other brands.

I think both are fair complaints.

a) Channel is not available
b) Channel is available but adding a burden to the package cost

As neo001 rightly pointed out, TataSky will cost Rs. 490/Rs. 525. This is the cost of a single connection only. The multiple TVs in a single dwelling (and there are many like me who fall in such a category), there will be additional 50% per multi-TV connection.

I am paying just around Rs. 6000/- per year for two connections of DishTV (Platinum North/Marathi package) and I already get all the channels that neo001 mentioned except Neo Sports/Cricket.

Would you as a TataSky customer not be concerned by the price aspect? I would be.

For me satisfaction is a concern not price! and Tata sky provides good viewing.

tatasky is looting people... whenever they start new channel they will put it under some pack and charge extra.... if i want just WB channel then also i will have to subscribe to 3 other channels which i am not watching! Ofcourse price doesnt matter but if we can pay it comfortably doesnt mean that they start looting people...

What I could suggest you is to drop certain package of lesser importance if you really wish to go for the package.

I think its fair. There are many people who don't want english movies. As it is in a add-on pack, people who want to watch it pay. Not everyone.

Ive heard that the movies are not as good on WB, is this true?

I like WB its one of my favourite movie channel.:18: can go on and on watching movies.

Quite the opposite, I can assure you. They have a good selection - at least so far.

WB is my favourite movie channel,a good channel introduced by Tata Sky :thumbup:
