I'm finding Tata Sky too expensive, I mean to get extra channels you have to pay a fair bit amount of money! And especially as these day i dont get that much time in watching TV!

Why the high costs or extra costs for extra channels?

tata sky is really so expensive. And they are increasing just stupid free to air channels regardless any meaning.

Every Dth provider have separate packs of channels that have to be paid for. Overall it depends, how wisely you choose what you want to watch or not.

hmmmm. So you are with the feeling that a customer is not wise but the company is
by the way, that means that the best paid plans(all are quite similar) are best and rest are worst.

this statement looks like, "if everyone else is fooling, why not me?"

What I meant is all Dth providers have organised the structure of the package so wisely that we end up paying a good amount. We should subscribe for ltd packages what we watch and not for extra channels.

And for the good channels we have to pay the ransom. For ex, big channels come up in packages and not individual channels.
And they change the price every now and than.

My recent channel subscription are Super Value Pack and the Latest movie series Cosmo pack so I don't feel thats expensive

Yes No Doubt All the Tata Sky packages are very costly. and even their base pack are costly as they misses out more important channels in their base pack.

They have given all the important channels in ala-carte and add-on packs which are very costly like sports packs , life style gold pack and Cosmo pack.

No doubt that TataSky is better in terms of STB user interface (the best amongst all) and video quality (slightly better than DishTV but not as good as BigTV) but the package costs are phenomenal.

In a typical family of four or six (if you include grandparents) every one has their own preferences:

- Grandparents like to watch general soaps and devotional programs
- Mom wants to watch soaps, serials (incl English soaps), music and Hindi movies
- The typical Dad wants to watch News, Sports, Music, English Movies, and information channels
- The kids love the cartoons and music channels

Channels are not available in individual lists. And even if they were, the total price put individually comes to more of less same or more than the package cost.

So basically we are looking at almost channels.

So it boils down to how much you are paying and whether it is worth paying that much.

As far As active service are concern i like the new active service which dishtv launched last month.........Which are really good and very informative and helpful Like Monster jobs Active where one can search for jobs in verious categories this is very good active service and available only on dishtv.

Further Travel Active is very good active service where one can book hotel and flights and plan their holidays and above all gets special discounts as well.

And Shaadi Active is also good for those who are looking brides and groomes.

Travel activ service is Ok but I don't think activ jobs and activ Shaadi is a good idea. I mean who would want to try for jobs watching tv the same way activ Shaadi sitting at home

TataSky is really expensive now. Initially when I bought it, the tariff very pretty good. But when as time passed on, the cost went on increasing. I am almost paying Rs 300 every month on TataSky.

There are around 130+ channels, out of that we hardly watch 30~40 channels.
I wish they had price for each channel say Rs 5 per channel.
