| So after Zee's Dish TV, Star and Tata lunched new Direct to home service Tata Sky Satellite Television. I think its better than Dish TV. Just because -->They have fixed 200 RS/month rent which we couldnt found on DISH TV. -->All packages include in this service so no need to pay extra money as you have to pay in Dish tv. |

| Tata sky charging 200 Rs a month as of now is a ploy to lure customers.Thay made it clear that the rate is for 4 months only. When they think they have enuf customers they will make different channel packages like as zee did. They have made a begining with hiking the rates to 300 as of now. PS:I currently have cable connection.May take DTH in a few months time.As of now am in favour of tata sky.Only thing that prevents me is the goal tv available in zee.Is it worth taking the plunge just for that?I want it just for Liverpoolfc.tv.Also when will we get to see Al Jazeera International here in India? Also is French 24 available in india? |

| Anyone heard about someone providing 1000 channels? I do. It will include many international channels like mentioned above i.e. French 24 Al Jazeera etc. So we may have to wait longer for making a choice i.e. DTH or CAS or IPtv. |

| I am not sure how you expect 1000 channels. bandwidth in india is well less than 850 Mhz, and each channel takes more than 6 Mz (hope I am correct here) so you cannot expect that many channels. Even if digitized and bandwidth increased to 1 GHz, its not going to touch 1000 channels. Last edited by mmm; 01-18-07 at 10:31 PM. |

Rep Power: 3 | I can see FTV on my TATA sky. But yes I use 300 per month pack as in 200 month pack you don't get that saas bahu stuff and thats needed in every house where there are ladies. And its also not having channels like animal planet. So you need to spend 300 pm to have all channels on your TV. |

Rep Power: 12 | I think tata sky is much better then dish tv and there are a number of reasons for that but the most important one is the features that tata sky has and dish tv doest.. The way you can read a programs description well in advance is just too good. |

Rep Power: 2 | My vote for Tata Sky. have been using this service for 1yr and have no complaints till now. The digicomp box takes a little time to startup the channels and this irritates me. But well satisfied with the services they offer. |

Rep Power: 2 | i have both and my vote goes to dishtv, as tatasky remote is not very user friendly and heavy to use...for someone like me who watches tv very much and frequently shifting channels. other things is that channels takes time in starting up and also while changing channels then first a blue screen comes and then channel apperas which irritates me very much. |

Rep Power: 2 | I like TataSky, but they need to improve Actve services, which are mostly targeted to kids, allow adding more channels and improve their software atleast every 6 months. |

| Platinum Member | Tata SKY digicomp (STB) is much better than that of Dish TV - otherwise there is no difference in quality or quantity (maybe one or two channels here and there in their premium packages). Both have problems in after sales service. |

Rep Power: 2 | I would not say that they have any basic difference in there TV quality. I had used them both and to me they both are similar with just one difference and that is Dish Tv is much better then TATA Sky in terms of customer care service. |

Rep Power: 2 | I have seen a lot of imporvement in the customer care field from TATA. Like a lot of people who i know are using TATA and they all are very much satisfied with TATA. So i am also thinking of going with them. |

Rep Power: 2 | Yes, this is one thing. In the begining they are not at all professional about there service but now they are very much professional and thre customer care services have also improved a lot. |
