Thread: Zee Sports not available on Tata sky: Missing Live Football Action

Hi All,

I am a Tata Sky Customer since more then year and requesting them to add Zee sports on their platform, But Till now Zee sports is not available on Tata Sky due to which i am missing my favourite Football matches of UEFA champions league and also I- League matches.

As i am a football fan and and Zee sports is the only channel showing I-league football matches and due to Non-availability of Zee sports i won't be able to see any matches in the past as well and now also.

This is really bad from Tata Sky that they don't have Zee sports channel. They don't really care for their customers.

Dth providers have limited bandwidth no specific provider will provide you all channels some may have it some don't besides there are other sports channel to broadcast these matches.

These matches are exclusive on Zee Sports, Further they have bandwith to add new channels like WB, MGM,TCM ...........But when the question comes on adding Zee sports suddenly bandwith issue comes in picture..........you are posting like Tata Sky marketing reply

I have clearly mentioned DTH providers tell me one DTH provider which provides all channels.

Sports channels always occupy greater bandwidth. As bit rate is inversely proportional to the movements in picture.

Typical values for SDTV are 4Mbps for a movie channel, 5 for a variety channel and 6Mbps for a sports channel. And hence thats the reason they charge you extra for the sports channel package and may be could be the reason for avoiding another sports channel..

It is not the bandwidth issue - although this is the reason given.

Basically the dispute is about cross payment. Zee Sports is a channel by a rival company. Zee may be demanding 'x' amount per subscriber while TS may be willing to pay less than 'x'.

I never knew a service provider would be having rivalry with channel telecast because, besides Zee sports many other Zee channels are telecasted by Tata Sky.

It is a question of supply and demand.

TataSky believes (rightly or wrongly) that there is not enough demand for Zee Sports. Hence they are not willing to pay the fee that is being asked. There is also a question of revenue sharing based on the advertisements.

A tussle of similar kind is going on between Zee and Neo.

Well Zee Sports channel is available on all other platfrom apart from Tata Sky and BIGTV.

and also Zee Sports will have exclusive right for Some good football events and some other sports.

Neo is in Tata Sky's channel list so all exclusive cricket matches can be viewed this provides best cricket watching experience as cricket dominates Indian sports.

Airtel DTH has all the sports channels for now.Hoping this continues.

JCT Mohan Bagan football matches are very important.. indeed more than the UEFA club and euro matches...

how can i start my day without matches of Mohammadden sports club?? Zee sports is very very nice channel, which broadcasts so important matches...

i am worried if Tata sky doesnt show zee sports(which is more pop than SMALL channels like espn/star blah blah ) will loose all market...

I understand the I-League is important to you specifically but these channels are very useful and as they are telecasting LIVE International matches it is most important:thumbup1:

Indian Football team has made it to the world cup only once and they couldn't play it, reason was they had no studs.
