Thread: Tata Sky adding channels.

Of lately, Tata Sky has added seven new channels on its platform. Tata Sky was offering 170 channels. there have been seven new channels which include Discovery Turbo, Discovery Science, ET Now, Zee Talkies, 24 Taas, 24 Ghanta and Sony Aath. It is adding channels conforming to hold a stronger customer base.

As far As i Know Tata Sky is loosing its customer base Already slipped from No.2 to No.3 in Ranking of Total Subscribers base. Then How can it have strong base??????

At Present Dishtv Is No.1 with 6.5 million subscribers, Sun Direct is No.2 with around 4.8 million subscribers, Tata Sky is No. 3 with 4.5 million subscriber base, Artel and Big tv were having 2+ million subscriber base.

and as per cuirrent trend No Doubt Tata Sky will soon loose its No.3 position to airtel or bigtv as well.

Yes it has been adding channels and forecasts increasing its customer base. With its current customers it aims at improvising all the improvements it needs for its present customers as well as prospects through their voice it gets exactly the path of what the customer wants and ventures in satisfying those needs. In such an attempt to have a shaped future target. Also in excess it takes a step to give the best to customer with all of its latest interactive services. Many in dth provide active services but Tata Sky has been the pioneer the first to start active services and it looks at a new segment that can make people use TV in their benefit.

Even this time also i Didn't under stand what you want to say, and further your comments is no way near in reply of my comment.

After reading your commets its seems like a Tata Sky Rep. is replying to some one and used such a language that no one understand what you want tosay.

In simple Tata Sky finds out what the customer needs are with its current customer demand it either provides them or upgrades itself in satisfying customer wants.

But you haven't replied, Why Tata Sky lost its No.2 position based on Subscriber base, If they have strong subscriber base then they must retained their place. Like Dishtv Far ahead with their competitors at 6.5 million subscriber base.

How about a price cut? say something like Rs100 a month for all the channels? I am not sure if you both have any say in the companies you work for but it would be so nice to see DTH prices go down and the movie on demand prices as well.

I would also love it if Tata sky or dish tv or both start HD transmission for those channels that alreads are HD ready and gear up for going HD for every channel in the near future and may be charge a premium for those who want to use it I wouldnt mind paying a little bit extra for a good viewing experience.

why any one ask for telugu news channels bcoz i call to customer care they saying we need more requites from the people to add telugu news channels

I would like the Asianet Plus to be added in Tatasky - every other DTH provider has this channel and tatasky don't. Evey time I call them they say they need more requests. The way their subscriber base is reducing I think I won't get that channel, better to go for another provider.

They added Ten Action+ today!

However, Lumiere Movies and E24 have been removed

Yes i m so mad at tata sky. They juz axed animax to add new channels, cause they dont have band with. I use to watch mostly only animax on tv, and they took it off. They said they only might reinstate it if more demand is there. I m gonna wait till march, if it doesnt come back, will switch over to airtel or dish, at least they dont cut channels to add new ones

I have experience with both DishTV and TataSky and in my opinion TataSky is far ahead of DishTV in terms of service,at least in my area. DishTV service is at best non responsive.DishTV is also misleading its consumers as regards to HD channels.Most of the channels are up scaled, and not actually HD. Reliance is doing the same , but then miscommunication from Reliance is a habit.TataSky will be adding ESPNHD from Sunday.Videocon is already offering it and no doubt others will.DishTV has a larger subscriber base because it was first off the block.SUNTV has a niche market and so growth will stagnate.

Why the heck they don't have bandwidth? - They dropped one more malayalam channel and world movies has gone long back

They have dropped channels which were available when I decided on the DTH service provider. Based on the Malayalam channels available, I had chosen Tatasky and they have already dropped three of them without any information to us. The might have added any number of other non-Malayalam channels since then, most of which are of no interest to me. I have three connections at home, Tata Sky+HD, Tata Sky+ and Tata Sky with Megapack. Based on my say so, many of my friends have gone for Tata Sky connection. They are mostly Keralites and they all miss the dropped channels.

I have spoken to Tata Sky agents, sent them two e-mails, but am yet to get any reply. It is unbecoming of a company with the Tata name. I am sure everybody would agree that a major determinant for choosing a service provider is the channels offered.

Could some one advise me a plan of action? Thanks.
