Thread: Tata Sky Signal Problems

Yesterday late night i was facing some problems with Tata Sky, a lot of the channels were showing error or signal problems, but the weird thing was there was not rain or wind! This problem lasted for quite a while, but then was ok.....then again this morning had the same problem for a while!

Anyone else facing this problem?

You should call the customer care for such issues.

It seems to be a general Sun Outage problem by all DTH operator. It has been told by all DTH operator that there will be service interruption due to solar natural phenomena.

Precisely, This problem occurs due to Sun Outage. It happened for all DTH providers including Airtel Tv etc..

Let me explain to you what is a sun outage of a satellite:

Technical:
A sun outage, sun transit or sun fade is an interruption in or distortion of geostationary satellite signals caused by interference from solar radiation. The effect is due to the sun's radiation overwhelming the satellite signal. Generally, sun outages occur in February, March, September and October, that is, around the time of the equinoxes.

Simple:
This natural phenomenon happens twice a year when a satellite and receiving earth's station comes directly in line with the Sun. The energy from the Sun, interferes with the satellites signal and causes this loss in transmission.

It even effected the BSE and NSE!

LOL. Yes. Sun outage occurs any time.

The sun has set on your part of the hemisphere but the Sun is still very much in the vicinoty. Solar flares and radiation occurs all the time.
