Default Tata - SKY HIGH prices

I have TataSky for two months now, and I am not liking what they are providing. It is the most expensive dth around. The channel packages are nonsensical. And they do not have Zee Sports, which is the worst part as they are the ones who show the most non-live football (repeat telecasts) plus live CL. All other dths have Zee Sports. Then again whichever new channel comes up, it is put in a package that most people do not subscribe to.

What they have done with their packages is that they put good channels with ones that very few people would watch, and then charge heavily. So if you like hollywood movies, infotainement and sports the least expensive package would be the All-Channels pack which is more expensive than other dths.

Their picture clarity is not better that Airtel or Big, at least. They did ship me a set top box with an mpeg-4 logo on it, dont know if their picture quality is actually mpeg-4 dvbs2 (I cant say coz I watch on a CTV and not an LCD).

So I was wondering, what kind of customers are they targetting when they cannot satisfy anybody.

I spend rs 360 a month and do not get Ten Sports, Zee Sports(N.A.), WB and any new channel that is added eg ET Now, Discovery Science.

If I do change my DTH which should I go for - Airtel, Videocon or other. Pl tell

And pray, tell me what is the use of these interactive services?

@nuttyfreak09, you should look at all DTH providers and check the quality and package cost first before selecting.

If you want to switch now, your cost of STB, Dish, installation, etc. will be wasted.

Videocon D2H is providing the cheapest service right now followed by DishTV. DishTV does not have Neo channels. BigTV has good picture quality (PQ) but lousy service. One main issue of BigTV is their obtrusive large logo that impairs the viewable area. Airtel is somewhere in between.

Well that's true, Tata Sky is very costly and having costly packages and ala-carte. Also does have the worst packages, All the important channels are put on separate add-on packs which increased the cost of packages further.

I believe Tata Sky means spending a good amount also the amount spent should have cost benefits to make best to what customers want Tata Sky has been identifying key areas in which it has to upgrade also in new areas that it can independantly develop and yes there is a lot to come in Tata Sky which will give you the pleasure and satisfaction of watching TV with advanced functions ranging from home shopping with the interactive services to every item extended beyond viewing making TV a puppet that can dance to your tunes. Over the past two months Tata Sky has done a splendid job of adding 8 channels including TV9 Gujarati to regional viewers this has definitely been a good news it is also intending to come up with HD service prior to the common wealth games. Zee sports I believe has some of the telecast that other channels don't have but at the same time Neo has certain telecast that Zee does not offer the flexibilty of choosing a package is totally liberal depending on choosing only the most important channels and subscribing only for them. MPEG4 is a compression format not affecting picture quality at all. The channels that are being added should be considered as an advantage to opt for rather than not having the channel at all.

I dont agree with your point about clarity, because I think Tata Sky gives the best picture quality, especially more clarity than Airtel DTH.

Your bound to get a DTH provider which doesnt have a channel or two, and thats something you should look out for when getting your service, as its according to personal preference!

Ya @ preeti you are right among the dth service providers tata sky offers a great image quality,so the point of the complaint about the image quality is not valid!!
