Default Tata Sky+ New price drop

Prices for the Tata Sky+ STB have yet been dropped and this time the price is Rs5999.

But now with HD channels available, this may bring a downside to the Tata Sky+ box as people may want a HD box and maybe waiting for it to be launched from Tata Sky, or moving to another DTH provider. Or another chance maybe that Tata Sky will have HD on their Tata Sky+ STB's in the near future.

Wasn't that available some time ago - some promotion scheme. In fact, the two girls vaishaliv and vasundra (or were they the same), were just orgasmic about it.

OK. They seem to have introduced it again.

The last price I knew about was for Rs8999, and I think it was Diwali!

I saw the new price promotion on the tata sky channel yesterday.

Well if I am not wrong the current offer price of Tata Sky+ is 5,999/- which is better they should also provide HD at an inexpensive pricing. The base box of Tata Sky+ does it incorporate HD ready?

TS+ box is MPEG4 ready. Whether it is HD capable or not, I cannot say.

The TS+ box already has component out so providing 1080i resolution is not an issue. 1080p requires HDMI out.

Maybe by having a firmware upgrade over the air (OTA via satellite) they can make it HD ready - I have no idea how this works.

Just by a firmware upgrade, if that is possible then this does not involve any cost does it?

Pricing wise Sundirect is around 10,000 Reliance Big tv is around 8,000 & around 6,000 for existing subscribers. Dish tv drafted its launch 25-30% more economical compared to sundirect. I speculate much more efficient price from Tata Sky+ launching HD.

I have no idea really. Just speculating.

Basically HD decoding/encoding is (mostly) a software function.

I got a new tata sky box a couple of months ago and it has an HDMI out but no idea if it would support HD channels in future.. The older boxes dont have hdmi output.

If it has HDMI out then it is most likely to support HD.
