Do You know Tata sky is rated no. 1 for poor customer service and customer satisfaction in a survey done by Core (Organisation name) and the results were updated on their website as well.

their is always a difference between picture quality of Cable and DTH. as cable is analog while DTH is digital telecast. so if you take any dth all have same audio and video quality but all are better then cable any ways.

It has become extremely funny now. My problem is always the same at every renewal. Every year, I renew for a year. I have multi-TV connection and I pay Rs. 5,775 for the two of them for the Maxi/Platinum package. What invariably happens is that they allocate the entire money on the primary VC (connections) and nothing on the secondary - even when it is correctly stated in the payment advice.

Quite predictably, it happened this year also.

Other than that I don't have issues. Oh Yes. Another one. They do not send me any invoice or payment receipt. But the account on website is updated.

neo001, Cable TV is also transmitting in digital now - though not at all places.

Even i have to agree upon this that Tata Sky picture quality is excellent, it makes a huge difference when watching programmes and makes it more enjoyable!

I have been reading up lately about DTH services and came across this really good blog on tatasky. What i liked bout this blog was tht it covered every aspect of tatasky and has discussed bout the issues that are currently on various forums regarding tata sky and tataplus. Guys regarding the sports package of tatasky which as i have seen is something tht lot of ppl have issues with will be taken care of if u visit this blog, I read it and it made sense to me. Thanks for sharing it .. it contains details of the active channels they provide as well which i until now had no clear idea about.. i didnt know they provided movies on demand...

MOD is a useless feature. You can buy the same DVDs at Rs. 45/- to Rs. 99/- (original from Moser Baer, Eros, Bombino, etc.)

Yep, the price issues is a little tricky. You can rent a DVD at my place for Rs 45 so we need to see how this business model works out. The blog looks pretty good too. Especially for new users and TS loyalists.

I am a TS user. I cannot comment on Airtel TV but I know from friends that Big Tv is very very bad. My friend had a lot of problems with STB heating up as well as hanging etc... He had to change hardware etc... many times.

Why rent a DVD when you can buy it at the same price?

will have to keep my tataplus plans on a hold for a while, will have to convince my folks over the trip to buy one for me.. Hopefully it will work out..

Hey! Can u really buy a DVD for Rs 45?? Didnt know that. I want a refund! I have been wasting too much money.

@Mirzarocx, Yes now you can buy most Hindi DVDs for a price between Rs. 45/- and Rs. 99/-. Moser Baer brought about this revolution about a year ago. Check the link in my signature.

Because of this many others such as Shemaroo, Bombino, Eros, etc. dropped their prices to the same level.

a) Old movie DVDs are around Rs. 45/-, VCDs are around Rs. 30/-
b) New movie DVDs are Rs. 99/-, VCDs are for Rs. 45/-.

So why order Movie on Demand?

Hi friends.. I have personal seen almost all the dth networks in india in my friends and relatives home and i m of the conclusion that TATA SKY is the best : ) I m from bangalore i m using tata sky from 2yrs, i had bought it for Rs.4000 then but now its just 1499..Their is no problem in my dish set up box from then.
The sound and picture quality is very good..
For south india just Rs.125/month for 52 popular channels..
For north india just Rs.99/month for 40channels.
Add on packages are good ..
Even though call to customer care is charged the technicians are good and ready to assist..
Other networks initial give good offer but later increase their price lik one new dth player gave free dish with 1yr subscription for just Rs.1999 only and now same dth player is charging Rs.1999 for 6months..

Please post your true and valuable opinions..

tata sky is the best in terms of quality of picture and sound ...
cutomer service is also very good

but

the channel package prices are bit too much ... the same channels which they used to provide in the base pack are being gradually shifted to different small packages which costs you separately and the base pack price remains the same ...

TATA Sky has the habit of frequently changing their channel packages and hacking off some channels into a new package for which they ask more money. If I have paid for certian no. of channels for certain no. of months I expect just that.
Theres no way a service that cheats customers like this can be called "The Best"

well u need to check wht packages r going on....n which one u require....! they ve a lot of em so one has to see n than decide which one is beneficial.......!

true, more packs would basically mean more options to choose from.. thats the whole funda behind these packs... so select tht suits u the best and go for it..

There has to be some benefit. I am sure MOD must be a good service, that is the reason they are promoting it. My friend like SHOWCASE a lot and watches a lot of movies on it.

but what they are doing is that they are extracting channels from the base pack and adding a few new ones to make a new package but the base pack price is not reduced while opting for various packages start costing more gradually

yes TATA Sky picture is good, but have u ever seen it when it rains heavily (and in coastal areas thats almost 3 months of the year)
