Don't you seen the picture or hear the sound quality of TataSky,

wake up man.... From the ancient world...

Have You tried the Tata Sky HD service.

It have 5.1 channel audio output for the best experience in Home Theater,
HDMI output which support both 720p and 1080i,

It's picture aspect is not like other 4:3,
it provide 16:9 aspect ratio of picture for best result in LCD tv.

Do you know , you may see leading news channel like Aaj tak, star news , cnbc-tv18 when they show any channel by courtesy , they show from TataSky, because for good picture quality for viewing..

The fact is that "Quality is more importent than Quantity"

Tata Sky is like Airtel Mobile Service, means it may cost you a little bit higher but it quality is best to became Leading Brands...

All you have to do is read my articles. phew.

For your info,

1. NGC HD and Discovery HD are being offered by others also - with the same quality and sound.
2. The quality of the picture and sound depends upon the source and the compression technique used. The satellite used generally plays no hand in this as all the satellites are using the KU-band or some such band for transmission.
3. The Star-HD service is not really HD - it the SD source upscaled to HD by hardware. The Star network is their own network (owned by BSkyB). DishTV is providing Zee-TV HD. Sadly that is also an upscaled channel.
4. All other providers who are providing HD service are also providing the channels in 16:9 ratio, 1080i resolution and claiming 5.1 channel sound.

(for the reasons above I said that you are reading an advertisement)

TataSky does have slightly better quality than others for SD channels, I admit that but they are charging 1.5 times the price. Now before you jump on to "quality for a price" bandwagon, let me assure you that quality means a lot to me. Once again, I implore you to read my "Home Theatre" articles. But in this case, I am sorry to say the 1.5 times the price is not justified by any significant increase in quality (understand the underlining).
