Hi fellas,, I got Tata Sky Connection few months back and i can say its the best..

When i planning to buy few months back i was confused if to buy dist tv or tata sky..

here is my experience..

1)

When i called up tatasky for enquires i was satisfied. The phone numbers were correctly mentioned in ads. I got the information i wanted at first shot. I got to know the nearest dealer and address with Phone numbers.

but

in dist tv, i got the number from my friend who has dish tv at his house. when i tried the numbers given, it never used to connected. couples of times it got connected and the fellow at the other side said its not dish tv!! I tried other numbers given in ads. It took me almost a week to get to talk to a dish tv fellow. Most of the Phone numbers are wrong..

2)

I decided to buy tata sky.. I went to dealer at night 8.30. I paid the amount and the system was registered with my contact details. As soon i came out the shop i got a call from tata sky ppl asking me when they should send technicians to my house for setting up the antenna. This was very fast. They came the next day at sharp 11 Am as booked..

3)

Tata Sky technicians are very professional.. They come with all the tools.. drilling machine, quality checker, angle measuring tools etc.. Their work was so professional. I didnt want the tv cable going thru windows bcoz windows cant be closed later. So they made a small neat hole thru the wall and got the wire into the house. The work was neatly done.

But in dish tv, for my friend they sent a fellow on cycle with a chisel and hammer for making hole to fit the antenna.. He was making hole on top of roof on trial n error method.. What the Hell!. He took the cable into the house thru the window as he had no other option.

4)

finally.. in tata sky as soon as the antenna was setup, the technicians calls up tata sky and tell them to activate the connection. within few mintues it was activcated and i was getting all the channels..

but in dist tv, the system is activated after 24 hours..

5)

Recharging options are very easy in tata sky, just buy the card, call toll free number and enter the pin n its done. In their database your telephone no is assigned to your system id so it will automatically detect ur system id thru ur phone no and ur account is charged.. simple..

Even though tata sky have less channles than dish tv, i would suggest tata sky. Tata sky service is 1000 times better than dish tv..

I have all channels tht i want watch in tata sky so its not a problem..

My friend who has tata sky had the same experiences. He was one of the first to order it in our city and the quality is way better than normal cable crap.

Also, Dish TV isnt much popular here. Tata sky is touching the heights.

Quality here in delhi is same as cable TV as cable operators here in Delhi give very good service and also we get all channels on 2 TV on my house for just Rs 250. And we never had to pay Rs.4000 initially.

I would love to have a tata sky connection because it will give me all the channels which i view So it is very easy for me to view in a very high Quality

I would not say that they are any near the word professional. I had TATA Sky earlier before going in for Dish TV and i did faced some problem with my connection and when i called up they promised to send me a technician who would look to my problem... i didn;t got any one from there side to check my problem for 1 months and then i disconnect there service.

TATA may be good for the services they are offering but the big dfference comes when you get to there customer care which is not that much responsive. They really need to look into this thing otherwise they are a great company.

Yes, they are good. I had been using them for some time and they are really very much good in terms of service providing. I had never ever faced any problem till now so i can't say about there customer care service .. but from all other things they are good.

The competition is just two players - so it is not worth saying that 'this guy' is the best. I have been dealing with DishTV over a year and half and I have dealt with them about 10 times. Most of my queries were regarding billing (six of them). This proves that service was quite up to the mark.

I write the following experiences:

a) When the call is routed to CSE, the phone is usually picked up within a minute.
b) Most (99&#37 of my queries are answered with proper answers
c) Staff is very courteous (if not highly trained in English - but I don't care about language)
d) Only one technical issue took 2 days; others were sorted out within 4 hours
e) The issue that took 2 days was that I have 2 connections and they were recorded as individual connections and not multi-TV @ same home.

My main sore points:

a) Bills and demands are never sent by hardcopy or email. They depend upon you finding it out.
b) Billing details on Web site are difficult to understand.
c) I have been promised e-bills; but I have never received them
d) New channels such as NDTV-Imagine are still not on DishTV

What I fear with TataSky is that they amassed too many customers in very short time and they could go the ICICI way where ICICI bank is the worst when it comes to customer service.

The point I am making is that - there are only 2 players and both are at par. If one was extremely attrocious then it would have been accurate to say that the other guy is the best. I am extremely happy with DishTV and they are slightly cheaper also.

TATA is good but itis not a new thing they there customers are still facing problem with the billing. I had used thre TATA indicom and i also faced a lot of problem with there billing thing.

Well if they are facing problem in Customer care then i am sure that it would land them in deep troublem really soon. I was thinking of going on with TATA but if this is the thing then i would wait for some time ...

I had been using TATASky for a long time now and i would say that they are really goof with there customer care. I had some problem (which were caused by me) and TATA technical representative cleared it very fase which is somehing i really liked.

I would not say that TATA Sky is the best in terms of service ... they stil need to improve there services but as compared to other same service providers then TATA sKy is a good one.

Hi, following the Conversation with Miss Sacha when i tried to reach Mr.Vikram...
Kindly note that all the Tata Sky Plus advertisements are Picture correct ie: the video content in Wide LCD TVs used by the Models in all the Advertisements in all the TATASKYPLUS advertisements is picture correct to 16:9 aspect Ratio. if there is no 16:9 Broadcast why cheat People. Should have made the advertisements with 4:3 TVs. and Put a Slide now and then saying "No 16:9 TRansmission YET"

On the contrary only the 16:9 and 4:3 Setting is working in the TATA Sky PLUS Box. the picture is only 4:3 AWKWARDLY Streatched to 16:9..
When i called the custumer care for a Month before Paying for TS+ and kept veryfying that TATA Sky Plus is Transmitting 16:9.. They Assured me that 16:9 is there cuz now its MPEG4 and it streamed..

then The Tech Head South comes up with a PRO TS+ answer telling me that the Indian Standard for TX is 4:3..

Do not throw crap at people Please....
Then India is Still at Cable TV Settop Box Level,,, WHY DTH...
Innovation Has no limit... then Make a Announce ment to all Custumers that INDIAN Broadcast Standards is 4:3 only so please buy 16:9 LCDs or TVs at your own Discreetion bcuz TS+ is transmitting only 4:3 and NOT 16:9.

and also Reproduce all TATA SKY Plus Advertisements with wide LCD having Cropped images or only 4:3 INDIAN STANDARD TVs.

Why Lie...

I have tried to get this service for the last 6 weeks; and still nothing. Tata wants to make 2 cable connections for the 2 tuners of this box ! Hello, we're living in a house with cabling, I don't need loose cables running through the house ! They refuse to install a splitter - outside India a very normal thing to do if you have substandard box. Don't waist your time and money here. So I wonder how long it takes to refund the 9999 to me.

I am not sure what your complaint is exactly.

When you mean two tuners do you mean multi-TV setup? Note that the standard dish and LNB do not generate a signal that is powerfull enough to be split. If standard signal strength is 80%, after splitting, the signal will degarde to 45% max. This will result in poor video quality. The solution is a large dish.

In some odd cases, the installation may have taken longer but your two weeks and nothing is an outlier. 99.9% of the times people have reported installation complete and services up and running within 48 hours.

So I definitely do not agree that this is a waist of time.

Tata Sky DTH has excellent quality of television. The channels as well as the audio is so clear as i would say puuurrrrfect!. If you have a flat screen TV to go with it, it would just be heaven for Guyz like me. Nothing like having firends over for a game of cricket. Tata Sky is like THE quality product which I have come across. Thank the tatas for delivering me for the terrible quality o the cablewallahs.

I too am very happy with Tata Sky. The most impressive bit for me is the quality.

I have been using TataSky for past 15 months. Iam very happy with the service & the customer care service. But only 1 thing which hurts is the price. I am using the South Jumbo pack. I have bought the annual package for Rs 2500 (for 12 months).
Apart from that I am recharging Rs 100 every month for:
Ten Sports (Rs 15)
ESPN, Star Sports & Star Cricket (Rs 45)
Lifestyle Gold Pack (Rs 40)

I heard that now the cost of ESPN, Star Sports & Star Cricket pack is Rs 65.

I am using Tata Sky Plus and I am quiet happy with the service. The quality is very good and the service is great too. There are some issues during rains, but that is for too shot a duration. So my vote goes for tata sky - tatasky plus.

Can you transfer the contents out from TS+, i.e., suppose you wish to copy the recorded content to DVD, how do you do that?

people tata is good at service bt the packs simply sucks no sports channel even in Rs 350 a month wtf ??

other players give sufficient channels wid all the sports channel so u shud better opt Reliance or Airtel !!!!!!1

guys m plannin to buy a DTH finally for my room and have been trying to make my choice, tata+ features are just way too fascinating and i think itll be kinda cool to have one for myself..

yup, i have heard of tata quality being great.. the difference in picture quality of cable and tata is definitely noticable.

I have to admit too that Tata Sky has got excellent customer service!
