    hope i am not violating the rules of the forum..wanted to show off my new find ...this site [unable to post a link coz i havent posted 15 times yet...anyway the post is in digital spy forum under the name Digital Spy - Sky+ Upgrade FAQ – 14th February 2009] has the information and links to the software to copy recorded stuff off the sky+ box....i think we use pace sky+ hd boxes...but doing it VOIDS UR WARRANTY

    Not possible dude.No way to copy recorded programmes to pc as they are copyrighted!

    No. There is no forum rules violation.

    Coming back to the question ... is it possible to copy recorded programs to PC/computer? The answer is - Yes and no.

    No. The HDCP technology will prevent copying of digital content via HDMI cable.

    Yes. You can always have a PC capture card with analogue RCA inputs. Connect the output from STB to PC card and you will be able to record the video on the fly as you (re)play the content. The disadvantage is that this will be analogue, non-HD and posses artifacts.

    But it beats me ... why would anyone wish to copy contents of any DTH program in India? And if someone says, the India-SL WC final, I will say "All the best. You will need at least 4 raw DVDs for that."

    hey bro i want to know where will i get a pc capture card and how much will it cost?

    No idea. Around Rs. 1500, I guess. Check on eBay.

    getting stuff put of tata sky isnt possible even after using +extract..as it only rips FTA channel which they get in UK, in india we dont get any channel without the Card inside our tata sky STB.
