Hi, Now I am using local cable connection for my TV.
Every day 5 to 10 munits cable disconnection, my favorite channel cancel, I am faceing this type of problems.
Till last mont the rental chages per month was Rs 150, From january on wards they are asking for Rs 200.

I am from bangalore. My favorite channels are All Hinid news & Sports & Hindi movies.
I want to cancel my cable connection and thinking for DTH or big TV or Tata sky.

Please advice me which one good (cheap & Best) for me.
Please advice me a yearly plan. (I want to pay once for 1 Year).

If possiable please provide me the comparison list betweenl all sevice providers available in banglaore.

You can go for ant DTH pack costing Rs. 200 and it will include your basic wants. The problem is with "sports".

You have said "you want Sports" but have not mentioned which channels. The problem with most DTH companies is that they have seggregated the various sports channels into four groups:

- the free group: this includes "DD Sports" only
- the ESPN/SS group: this includes ESPN, Star Sports, Star Cricket
- the TEN group: consists of Ten Sports, Ten Action+ and Ten Cricket
- the Neo group: consists of Neo Sports and Neo Cricket

The problem is low end packs generally do not have sports channels (other than DD sports). I assume that Rs. 200 is your budget. And in that budget, I can suggest you TataSky as follows:

1. South Sports - Rs. 150: This will give you all Hindi News, some basic Hindi Entertainment (Sony, Star Plus, Zee - which is sufficient in my opinion), DD Sports, Star Sports and Neo Sports.
n/b. Notice how cleverly the package is designed - it contains one sports channel from the two major groups.
2. Sports 1 Pack - Rs. 65: You will get ESPN and Star Cricket in addition (Star Sports is already included)

You can check with websites of various DTH providers but more or less you will find similar issues everywhere. My best advice would be to stick to cable right now.

i migrated from normal cable few days back too.....i would suggest you to take up south sports annual pack (there is a pack 5200 bucks..which includes tatasky plus box and installation and 1 year south sports and 2 months hd gold pack charges) and take hindi movies annual pack and hd annual pack after 2 months...it will work out between 200 and 250 per month...cheers

I check with reliance big TV, for 1 year plan 115 channel (all news channel+all normal hindi channel+some sports channel+3 regional channel) Rs 2200.
Is this ok or something hidden is there they are not telling now.
Already I am facing a problem by taking Aircel 3G data card.
1st they say 1st month 3GB free next I have to rechage Rs 305 (750 MB).
on 18 Dec 2011 I taken the data card now they disconnect my connection and saying that my bill is more then Rs 9000 but I use only 892 MB.

Sorry to say you all these things. Please advice me for any good TV connection bcoz last month cable operator dissconnect "Ajtak" which is my favorite channel , and I come to know that this month they will disconnect "sony TV" . every time time they are disconnection any hindi channel and adding a new "kannada" channel. when we complain they say they will disconnet my complete connection.

If your cable provider is behaving "funny" then it will be worth switching to DTH. Please note however that DTH will be costlier anyday.

I suggest that you stick to a choice between Videocon D2H, DishTV or TataSky. Visit their websites for the browsing the package cost.

I'm also planning to take new dth connection.....cable operator sucks...while watching star cricket i'm getting this message " THIS CABLE NETWORK HAS LARGE PAYMENTS DUE AND LIABLE FOR DISCONNECTION" ......happening from last 4 days....

Maybe the cable operator has not paid ESPN/SS because of the pathetic performance of Indian Cricket Team. Or maybe he lost on satta (betting). Ha! Ha!

But yes. Switch to DTH for uninterrupted viewing (more or less). Perhaps if India does not lose more tests, it may even be worthwhile.
