Angry Help line is not toll free

This is the thing which made me wonder and google to know is there a difference between help line and toll free.

These people are charging for the calls we make to customer care.. even if you need to recharge your account.
The worst thing is that they keep you in hold for more time or just ask you to wait for few seconds and keeps on ticking the bill.

Post Tatasky Helpline is really poor service....

Toll free Number does not work and neither does their normal helpline number. Agreed you end up waiting for more than 5 minutes on hold. I don't really know if it is longer as I disconnect after 5 minutes
Any helpline that keeps a customer on hold for 5 minutes or more rates as poor service in my opinion. You don't even have a message to indicate that you are on hold.

Try calling them at odd hours or early in the morning. I have never called their customer service myself so no idea about the waiting times but in my opinion the waiting times are normally higher during the evenings and during the day on weekends so just avoid those times.

Maybe try getting help online from their website, you will probably have to register and and contact their customer service team through emails or submitting tickets. Its worth a try!

Yes, this is the way these guys cheat their customers. they advertise as toll-free but instead they let the customers pay for the calls rather than free. And the worse part is that we need to wait in queue in line while calling for nearly around half an hour every time and imagine the call pulse that would be galloped in such cases!

most of the helpline number are not toll free these days.. and now we really dont use landline as we use mobile phones.. and mobile phone providers are not offering free calls to any helpline apart from that railway enquiry.

if you have a landline then you can enjoy many toll free numbers to contact like 1800-****-**** type numbers

Actually 95%+ toll free numbers are from BSNL/MTNL landlines only.

Default Help line numbers not free

This is the worst thing I too feel to be answered. Why we have to pay for helpline numbers. Even if it is fault we have pay. One thing I want to share with you. When Neo sports along with Active Sports was added for Pakistan series in Nov 2007. They said if you register before 31st oct 2007 you will get the benefit for 50 rupees. ie 149 instead of Rs 199 from 1st Nov. So, I registered on 31 st oct iteself. When the series started from 6th Nov. I could not able to view the ACTIVE Sports . When I contacted them over helpline number they said we will attend it. During the second one dayer also I could not able to view it. Again I lodged complained on the helpline number. They said it will attended only during the match. Again during the third onedayer I tried to contact during the match , but as usual I could not able to get their connection always busy engaged.

I missed out whole oneday series and nearly wasted Rs.50 through phone call which I thought will benefit me.

This is some thing fraud and looting on this service providers.

Register online on the Tata Sky site and manage your account from there, which is easier and save the calling costs.

if you want to register on tata sky then you can go to this link

Its not that bad when calling, like mentioned by Admin trying calling at odd hours and when you do call im sure its not a daily thing, just once in a blue moon i suppose. I know i don't call them often, it may be because i get the Rs1000 voucher, and its one call and lasts for a long time, so no hassle!
