    Default Tata Sky USB Dongle

The Tata Sky USB dongle is something old now, but just out of curiosity how many of you have bought the dongle and used it? For those who do not know, the videos on VOD are nothing special, the movies are old the DIY videos can be seen on You Tube and there is nothing new which you can watch on the internet or have not seen before. But I am quite sure that there are many who must of bought the USB dongle, and just wanted to know is it worth it, and realistically are the VOD videos any good?

I tried VOD on tata sky but find the videos that are available in their lists of no interest so eventually I gave up on the idea. That is not the only problem as the VOD movies are all SD and even then they use up a lot of data which you have to pay for out of your own pocket.

i purchased this wifi dongle for INR 300, and kept it attached to the box for a while, then it languished in my table drawer for a while, and then i started using it as a wifi hotspot in my office. not bad for a device that would normally cost about INR 800-1000.

Its a wifi a/b/g/n adapter... so... it does support all the currently available wifi protocols, and speed should not be an issue!

Speed between your router and this dongle should not be a cause of conscern unless your broadband speed is 30-40mbps which in India is very unlikely. Your broadband speed would probabbly not exceed 3-4mbps and this wifi dongle is capable of a lot more then that.

I use the tata sky remote on my mobile devices, which works as remote via the wifi dongle and the router which I already had, you can also set this up via LAN, but hey nothing beats wireless.

So I don't need to take remotes to bed. (Yes my TV also has wifi and a remote app)

Yes it does by downloading the application on your phone you can control many things like setting reminder for programs or recording something etc.

It is not worth getting the dongle from Tata Sky, you might as well spend a few hundred more and get a dongle which you know about as in the brand, storage space etc.

Aninesh ji it is a good way of getting a cheap wifi dongle. The quality cannot be too bad because they have to save their brand image too. Cannot afford to supply substandard stuff and have people like you and me saying bad stuff about them later
