    Default Problems with viewing some Tata Sky channels

    Since yesterday there is a problem in viewing some of the Tata Sky channels. The message which is shown on the TV is the same as the message which appears when it rains or is cloudy outside. Near enough of the HD channels are not working and only a select few SD channels are working. Any other Tata Sky user facing the same problem?

    Check the dish, for any obstructions blockin it from clear sky view, or someone accidently turned the dish away from the line of view of the satellite (if you are staying in a flat, with common roof) ! If that is the case, you need to get the technician to get it alligned to the proper satellite. Appratently HD services are widely affected even for 2-5% signal loss... Probably a bird sitting on the dish. The best place to get the solution would be the call centre if no obstructions are found!

    It is not just you, a lot of Tata Sky users went through a similar problem and it was due to some network upgrade which was being conducted by Tata Sky. The channels should be working fine now.

    This was so annoying and frustrating, as I was at a friends and we were to watch something, but couldnt because of the disruptions appearing. I would have at least expected Tata Sky to inform its users about it. I think this issue lasted for about 2 days.

    Hello Mr.Prateek!I am h n s mani fdrom Mysore also a tata sky DTH user! this problem with the south channels kannada tamil and malayalam(maybe telugu also started from 11th march evening!lasted upto 12th morning 10am!the reason for this signal loss is because these 3 ror 4 regional channel bouquets have been shifted to a new transponder on Asiasat satellite and the line of sight is very slightly away from the centre of our existing dish and LNB.I lodged a complaint via email on 13th! this morn(14th) recd a msg on mobile saying the tata Sky serviceman will visit my house to check and realign the dish/LNB if required!he came checked the signal strength which was less than the required 85db(decibels).a minute realignment of LNB was done to get the required strength of 85db by using signal strength meter!the serviceman said there will be no more problem with the reception!there was no problem for the new connections taken after 8th march at mysore and bangalore!Tatas are well known for their good customer service and "transparency"unlike some other DTH providers who are also mobile operators!This service was free of cost!

    Hello Mr.Hemant!I am h n s mani also a tata sky user from mysore!The reason why this disruption happened was because tatas shifted the south regional channel bouquets to a new transponder on Asiasat satellite and its line of sight happened to be minutely out of line with the already installed dish/lnb which are more than a year old!the serviceman visited me today (14th) tested the signal with the meter which was below the reqd 85db(decibels).A minute realignment was effected to get the 85db signal and the STB was reconncted! the reception now is excellent!this service was done by them free of cost!

    I know so many who had issues with viewing channels for about two days. Tata Sky should have at least informed their customers of this issue and at least compensate for the two days of non viewing of channels.

    The same problem came up again and was there for 3-4 days, until I called a Tata Sky rep. It is something to do with the dish itself, so if you are having problems viewing any channels you need to give Tata Sky customer service a call and they will send an engineer to resolve the issue.
