Default Tata Sky's New Website

Has anyone visited the new site of Tata Sky which has been relaunched, although it was relaunched some time ago, i only recently saw it.

There have been a lot of improvements made, and its much easier to understand everything on the site now!

Plus its much more colourful

Tata sky picture and quality is good but non DVD quality
they are not using MPEG 4 format
But for a normal size TV i dont see any issue with tata sky and happy to have

I do have some complains with tata sky when they remove some channels from the base package and charge us for those channels

Reliance Big TV which is soon being launched is believe that will have MPEG 4 format which should have better quality but not sure as this is not launched

You do know that DVD is MPEG2, don't you? MPEG4 is not going to make any difference (at least in India). MPEG4 uses optimized and higher compression that allows more channels squeezed into the same bandwidth. This works out beneficial to the DTH provider because then they have to hire less transponders for the same number of channels.

While MPEG4 does have the potential of giving better video, unless the source is better the output cannot be better.

So do not fall for the MPEG4 humdrum. Better compare first before you buy. TataSky and DishTV are not DVD quality (whatever they may say) but they are not bad at all. The main decision should be on how much you will be spending per month and for that amount how many channels you will get.

ya u r right i hv tata sky u can see that star channels result is very good where watch the zee tv chnls result weaker than star. So u can say if source is not better the output cannot be better.

I personally think that Tata Sky is worth it and much better than the other DTH providers. The sound quality and picture quality is excellent, and their are more interactive services than Dish TV. So yes its worth taking Tata Sky.
