Why do you expect then to shut a channel or service? if you dont like a channel all yu have to do is not watch it.
I agree if you don't like a channel just don't watch or subscribe to it.
TataSky is showing 150+ channels. Out of that you may be subscribed to 80+ channels. It is physically impossible for anyone to watch all channels regularly. But channels are for a wide compass of people. So just because some do not like some channels they cannot be removed.
But I love this topic and I join in. I say TataSky (and DishTV) also get rid of the following channels:
1. Star News
2. Aaj Tak
3. India Television
4. Zee News
5. Live India
What say?

You would be surprised how many people actually love these gossip channels :

3. India Television
4. Zee News

All these above channels shouldnt be listed as news channels atleast even if they cant stop airing them.
The quality of these channels need a major makeover.
The main reason for the kind of language and way these channels present news is the majority in India who watch these channels every day.
It would be hard to find anyone on our forum here who watches any of these channels on a regular basis mainly because the section of our society who watches these channels (Mainly India TV) are a different breed alltogether and I would leave the rest to your own imagination as to who watches these channels.
I greatly admire the business sense of those who run these channels.. They are all making money by the way and they have a massive viewrship.
I STRONGLY agree with you admin... all these channels shud in fact be banned, they are only rumour mongers on a big scale... trying to attract the silly village folk or someone like that.
I came across this india tv once airing a well known video of a boeing 747 trying to land with very strong crosswinds (it was successful btw) but what the headline said was that "Aapka pilot so raha hai kya?" and there was a person announcing in the usual tone they do on these channels--"Yeh dekhiye is aeroplane ki kya halat ho rahi hai iske pilot ki vajah se" or something like that!! I myself was an aspiring pilot once and it just made my head spin!
They are just f***ing illiterates sitting in the newsroom.
and the most annoying part is that when these channels put some large red rings over the picture and somebody says "Yeh Dekhiye", and this is not the end my friend, once again the honeydippedvoice comes "Ek Baar phir dekhiye"
Baar baar dekhiye.. aur yeh ek baar fir hum aapko dikha rahe hain.
Hamare channel per sabse pehle dikhaya gaya aur yeh fir dekhiye aap ko dekh kar harani hogi.
Aur yeh fir dekhiye kis tarah se aur kaise yeh dekhiye...

We should start a nationwide campaign to get the premisis of these news channels locked if they dont improve their standards.
I also remember seeing a picture posted by another member (please excuse me for not remembering who it was)

its really sad that we dont have any standards for our news channels and they show just the ****.. and whatever they feel..
i remember when out Ex President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalaam Azaad gave a speech in France he said "I really like the way this county is showing its heritage and a newspaper which fills you up with energy and smile every morning as it shows all good news and social gains on first page where in my country first page is full of accidents, murder and politics."
after this Dr. Kalaam explained that in our indian news papers we find all the good news somewhere inside the news paper but the first page is full of problem which attracts the first site, but in case of france the first page of news paper covers only fruity and joyful news of city and country and all the problems and bad news are buried somewhere deep inside.

you are right. they must ban the channels which are of no use. once they showed a magic which was supposed to be a great one. for about 5 hours they told that they will unfold the secret after few minutes. then it was after 5 hours they told it and there was a very simple secret. they told viewers to send sms, and they got hundreads of sms. they a a great way to earn money.
but it is of no use to us.
at least tata sky should remove it and add some interesting channels.
