    hi

i suggest to use linksys router wrt54g2 as i am currently using it without nay issues. U can also check out other routers as well.
This is how u will configure the router

    To summarize

Make sure that your Computer is configured with Dynamic IP.
You can check this by going to Control Panel> Network > Local Area Connection > Properties > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties > Select obtain IP address automatically.
    Now do the following:

    1. Connect the cable from WAN port of the WRT54G2 to the Laptop LAN-port.
    2. On a fresh page (Mozilla or IE or Chrome), type 192.168.1.100 in address-bar.
    3. Login as admin/admin and Under Setup >>> Basic Setup ,Change the Local IP Address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2.
    4. Under Setup >>> MAC Address Clone >>> Enable >>> Click “Clone your PC’s MAC” . Then Save settings.
    5. Connect the CABLE coming out of Reliance Modem to the Router Internet port.
    6. Wait for some 2-3 minutes.
    7. Open the page reliancebroadband.com Homepage.

It did not work for me yesterday while I was in hurry. I tried it today again and it worked in magic and I am all set to zoom..

    All the Best...

I wanted the same thing and I called up Tata customer care and asked them to help me configure the TATA model as a router. But the straightaway denied saying they can't do that. You wud have to add a new router to the exiting modem. I'm also strugling with the same but yet to do R & D.

Why would Tata restrict configuring the connection in the pppoe/router mode? Have u guys tried resetting the CPE/router initially supplied with the connection?
