Default Tata Wimax Fair Usage Policy

TCISL Fair Usage Policy (TCISL FUP)

The evolving internet broadband scenario in India necessitates the management of limited high-speed bandwidth and network resources in the larger interests of Customers. In line with the practice followed by major international Internet Service Providers and in its continuous endeavor to provide best possible Broadband Internet experience to all its customers, TCISL adopts a Fair Usage Policy (TCISL FUP) with an intent to ensure that the excessive bandwidth usage by a small segment of customers does not impact service quality for a large set of customers.

TCISL FUP is applicable to all existing and future unlimited plans offered by TCISL unless specifically withdrawn at the discretion of TCISL. Taking into consideration the maximum reasonable usage required by the average user, Tata Indicom Broadband has established a monthly data transfer threshold (Fair Usage Limit) for the various unlimited tariff plans as given below:
    FUP.jpg

Data transfer in excess of Fair Usage Limit as per the applicable tariff plan shall be treated as a violation of TCISL FUP.

Upon such violation of FUP, TCISL shall contact the Customer suggesting for reduction in usage or upgrade to a higher bandwidth plan.

Despite the above, if the customer fails to upgrade to a high speed plan or continue to violate the TCISL FUP, TCISL reserves the right to suspend or terminate the customer’s account immediately without prejudice to other rights available to TCISL under these Terms and Conditions.

And I thought 80 GB is never possible with 512 UL connections. Very informative! Thanks.

you can cross 80GB mark with 256 connection too
512kbps 24/7 connection can cross 100 GB without putting any extra efforts
Made something bit easy to understand, hope it will help

I guess we would need Mamta aunty to represent us on this like she did for the Nano thing in singur.

I have been using tata wimax for some time now ... never had a call from them although I am sure I must have touched the 80 gb mark a few times.

64kbps also has fair usage policy...... one step ahead of airtel!

in fact methinks airtel has withdrawn this from even the 256 and 512 plans...

It includes download and upload both
means if you download 50GB and upload 45GB then total data (which tata will count/consider) would be 95GB

at 256 kbps 24/7 with full upload and download the usage is 160gb approx..
at 45 gb they give us 25% usage allowance and then call it fair??? WTF????

reliance wont be using FUP. also FUP isn= only applicable for home plans and not business plans.. they are slightly costly but worth the hassle if you really need a true unlimited connection. actuall i had been anticipating this FUP thing. my usage usually exceed 120gb on 256kbps every month. was riding on cheap bandwidth... alas now i'll have to pay more

I don't think so. If you have a point prove it, you'd save us poor souls downloading 100+ GB's / month.

What are you people doing? I think even a software developer don't cross 100gb limit even if he use svn or cvs or things like that. I think its fair as some people are consuming all the bandwidth available & some are using consciously & judiciously.

    LOL. movies and stuff.

Well i don't feel guilty for doing so. most of the people in my area are oldies who probably use net mainly for chatting and maybe a lil bit voice chat. so even as per the contention ratio of 50:1 , i'm not doing any injustice to anyone.

even with my 512kbps, i cross 100GB every month. If I had more speed available I can cross even 200GB.

I will never be able to cross 100gb ever. Only if I ever will was if there is a tool for me invented which can take 100 gb space.
