Unhappy Torrents not working with TATA WI MAX

I just got my LAN migrated to WiMax (384 kbps) a day back in Hyd and it is terrible. Not only has the download speed come down to 21-22 kbps from over 40 + kbps but the major problem is that torrents don't work.

How can I go about the torrents??? What do I have to do to make it work ?

Please help...

No, Torrent will work even port forward is disabled.
try utorrent
get the latest version from here
Download - µTorrent - The Lightweight and Efficient BitTorrent Client
download and install
and in open utorrent then >options>speedguide>connection type> (CHANGE CURRENT SETTINGS TO xx20MBit >
current port > (put a value higher than 56661
and hit use selected settings and apply.
im a 384 kbps user i can download torrent with 48 ~ 54 KBps

kevin, let us know if it is working for you. Adding to Navin's point you can check the box where it says, encrypt the packets (in utorrent).

utorrent is the best. It is quite lite and compatible. I don't think your ISP has something to do with this. If you already have utorrent, reinstalling may fix the problem.

tried using u torrent accelerator but it does not work..its some bullshit..the speed remains the same if u start or stop the the thing..

got static ip nd my torrents are working fine nd FYi it is not possible to get
74 kB/S on a 384 kbps connection

in ur post mentioned ur getting 74kbps nd dat is not even 50 %of ur bandwiths speed
hope ur not confused between kbps and kB/s
