    Default Need Help & Review

    Hi all,

    The connection is in Mumbai

I am a user of tata indicom broadband from last 2 years, I was happy with the tata indicom broadband wired line. Initially i had lot of issues but i manged to get it resolve by proactively getting involved in the execution of the tata indicom broadband setup. So recently I raised a complain regarding the no internet connectivity and it was not resolved for 3 days. So i had to start looking into the issue my self, some info the way my internet connection is setup is tataindicom has a node few blocks away from my building due to leagal issue they cannot provide me a direct connection as the local cable operator has taken the monopoly for that zone some legal policy, so i am routed through the cable operator. Also all the previous issues i had was due to un professional setups implemented by the local cable operator. After breaking my head with tata indicom enginners and the local cable operator i found that the actual culprit is the local cable operator. There is some issue between the cable operator and the tata indicom due to which cable operator does not provide access to the engineer to the cable operators server room. When i talked regarding the issue with the tata engineer they told the problem is with the cable operator switch which we had verified previously and i agree the tata engineer is right. When contacted the cable operator he says its a problem with the tata line and not them , indirectly they also offered me there own connection instead of tata. After a few checks i know the culprit is the cable operator but i have no issues with cable operator. I had a word with the Tata Indicom broadband nodal officer suggested me to convert to wimax at free of cost so that cable operator is no more a problem between me and tata indicom.

As i have browsed the internet on wimax technology and it looks promising if installed correctly. I checked few reviews on the tata wimax and found lot of issues in this technology. Please help me should i take the risk of getting into wimax technology. Some good reviews and bad reviews on the wimax. Please provide your inputs on the tata wimax, is it worth it

Will i get the same speed , no down times ,connectivity issues etc. Once i am converted to wimax i will not be able to connect back to wired line.

    Best Regards,

    Hi all,

I was awaiting for your reply but unfortunately no replies no worries. Quick update. An engineer from tata visited today and checked the the signal strength and replied me we cannot install wimax because the signal strenght was around 12 to 13 low and some times around 17 db. So i decided that this will not work, just a quick question to all the existing wimax user what is the signal strength on the wimax device.

    Best regards.

    Hi
i have used TATA wimax for 6 months in mumbai ,just i hav disconnected coz of costly plans (rs )1100.
TATA Wimax is very GOOD (if u will get a signal of 20 strength otherwise its n pain)
TATA Tech guys are also good, they will take gud care of urs........n in case they dont JUST DROP A MAIL TO THERE NODAL OFFICER n they will treat u like GOD........
anyways wimax is gud if signal is GOOD......
but i doubt if TATA WIMAX exists nymore....

Regarding signal strength, you need to have a signal strength of 18 + to connect, highest signal strength to get a perfect conn is 32, with CINR of 5 also u can connect but the speed will be low.. if u r facing slow browsing, check with the CINR... u'l understand, even after you are not getting correct speed after good CINR, give a call to customer care, they'l refresh the connection...
