hey how much wimax cost you per month and wher r u from from india, when u download using p2p , your p2p application doesnt have bounds to stay in limit of utilizing on that much of bandwidth thats why it gets slow, ther are some options in utorrent that i can help u tweak but let me know what other applicatin u use if u use Limewire or shareaza ther is sno way you can decrease the bandwidth utilization.

1) are you able to ping to the gateway
2) What are you DNS entries
3) Can you ping the DNS servers

if you are able to do 1 and 2 and cannot do the third i will suspect DNS , you can try with these opendns entries

this could be an issue with NATing . NATing would ensure a smooth connection from ur system to the torrent tracker.

if NATing is fine, then u should get a green check mark on the bottom of ur utorrent client. If its a yellow exclamation, that means that the connection to the tracker has some issue. u need to call up the TATA customercare and ask them to enable NATing/port forwarding on ur account. portforward.com should give you more information on this.
