Exclamation WI MAX Tata indicom broad band feed back in Maruthi Nagar, Madiwala (Bangalore)

    Hi guys,

I am staying in Maruthi Nagar in Madiwala area( bangalore) .
I am looking BroadBand connection and searching for good service provider.

I have started with Airtel and got the good feedback about connectivity.
But when I visited the Airtel office they said that they couldn't provide
any more new connection in my area.

started thinking to go for Tata indicom WI Max 256kbps unlimited post paid plan.It costs 3371 for 4 months.
when started looking for feedback on connectivity and service.
It seems to be pathetic from most of users.

Is there any alternative BB good in connectivity?

If any one using TATA wimax BB in my area or anyone banglore give me the feedback whether to take the WI MAX Tata Indicom broad band or not.
I am really not able to take any decision.

Hope this feedback help me not wasting my time and money if its bad.

    Thanks..

You can go to BSNL and submit an application for BSNL Broadband with a new telephone line. In all probability, you will get a new line within 15 days. BB connection could take the same time or longer - it all depends upon whether they have the capacity and equipment at that time.

As a general rule of the thumb - new areas or new exchanges will be able to service you quicker.

All Wimax services really depend upon the vicinity to the tower. The closer you are, the better your connection. Broadband is better than Wimax.

You should first evaluate your main interner requirements, i.e., what you wish to do with internet.

well if u r taking a connection from BSNL then u need to have a modem of theirs or urs [which u can buy either from them or from a shop] installed before the connection is possible. and modem does not mean the one inside ur comp. such a modem is needed incase of bsnl. modem not required for sify connection.

Going by most opinions on this forum, it will be better to stay away from Sify.

You do not require a separate modem for laptop. If you go for BSNL, go for Type IV modem which has wi-fi and 4 lan ports. You can connect to this modem via wireless or LAN cable. Please read my "SOHO guide" in the "Broadband How to" section.

No matter what you do stay away from sify
i have used reliance wimax which was really bad, i did not have a tower near by but still they installed it and that never worked

Currently i am using tata wimax from past 3 weeks and have not got any issue, may be a once in a while a down time of few hours, but till now i am happy with the connection. tata wimax customer care is bad as bad as reliance or sify

but i feel that bsnl is better that all the above, i have used it for 1 year and had only a day or two of down time which is really good. had to move away form bsnl as i shifted my house

go for bsnl it is good

    Angry can't be worse

I applied for bsnllandline in kumar swami layout in crowded area like DAYANAND SAGAR COLLEGE...I have been told landline will take 4 days and landline 3 weeks...but 3 months have passed and landline is yet to come, took bsnl evdo..it was giving 1500kbpos..then in a few days it came down to 1200kbps,then 1000 kbps, then 800kbps,then 500kbps,then 256 kbps, then 150 kbps, then 64 kbps, now it's 32kbps..average download at 800bytes..with 50 odd disconnections per minute and I still get EVDO signal..it's not 1X...all complains have failed to both DATAONE and EVDO..they are awfully rude and don't take up phone unless youtry 4-6 hours constant (specially EVDO)

also they don't send bill of evdo in time and rather disconnect your line directly, paying up and after that reconnection takes 1 weeks after 5-6 days of constant tries to WHITEFIELD EXCHANGE no..which operate all EVDO OPERATIONS..it's time to surrender connections I think..my cousin in kumar swami layout has DATAONE 256 kBps unlimited and his internet works for around 20 minutes in a week,I agree luckily somepeople can get good connections but be prepared for the worst..the name is BSNL..and if you don't speak kannada, you have to hear racist comments as well..it's not a secret anymore

Exclamation Worst Service - Tata Indicom Wimax - Dont ever go to take this connection.

The most funniest thing is, I have taken 4 months package which is 384Kbps - Infinity plan (Unlimited), and surfing internet with 100 kbps speed.

Bandwidth Issue: Getting only upto 100kbps instead 384kbps. It is not even 1/4 of the plan that I have taken, where the base station (Tower) is not even half a kilometer distance to my home.

Giving complaints from past three months, but not rectified this issue yet.

I am keep giving complaints by sending mails and calling customer care executive as well.

They are very strict at registering the complaints, but here one more funniest thing is without solving your issue, they will close it by only just visiting your place and say that we will look into this, we have to do setup at our base station. Some Nonsense stories like this many......

Now my plan is going to end in another 10 0r 15 days, but still they are looking into issue.
    Especailly kormangala surrounding areas.
